What a lovely cottage! Very modern and tasteful, comfortable and restful. We had a very relaxing stay here and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was so obvious that the owners were thoughtful and meticulous by nature in the style and upkeep of our little cottage. We were also very grateful for the small changes (removal of rugs) made prior to our arrival to accommodate my daughters dustmite allergy. Thanks very much, Janine.

We stayed here for 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer. The cottage is very spacious and fittings are well thought out, and of a high quality. The property is so clean it looks like it has never been used before.

We based ourselves here so that we could investigate the Hawke's Bay wine region. There are a couple of wineries within walking distance and others such as Craggy Range are a short drive away. Martin & Janine helped us with our plans and we can't thank them enough for ensuring we had a memorable stay.

My partner and I stayed at Te Awanga Cottages for four nights to celebrate his 30th birthday. We had the most relaxing time and were very impressed with the modern, good quality cottage that had such a peaceful outlook. Even all of the products from the coffee to the bubble bath were beautiful quality and local as well! Janine and Martin were fantastic hosts and even dropped us off and picked us up from our dinner at Elephant Hill. We had a wonderful time, didn’t want to leave and would highly recommend staying there!

We booked 3 nights at the Cottages and from start to finish our expereince exceeded expectations. Janine and Martin are superb, charming and unobtrusive hosts. They accomodated our unusual request (Large wedding cake storage). A complimentary bottle of local wine was wating for us when we arrived and the standard of accommodation is 5 star. Cottages is a misnomer and teh small houses have everything your could want. Ipod docks, full kitchen , exellent bathroom and separtate bathroom and two lovely decks. The place was spotless when we arrived and the finish and furnishings are of the highest quality. we loved meeting our hosts and would love to return.

Room Tip: Both cottages are 5 star.

This was our second 1 week stay here. The cottage has everything you could ask for..fully equipped kitchen, large sitting/dining area, king bed and a bath with a separate room for a soaker tub. There are decks on two sides of the cottages, both with a table and chairs.
Location is ideal...a 5 minute walk to the gannet tours and 15 minutes to Clifden. It's about 15 minute drive to Havelock, 20 to Hastings and about the same into Napier .There is a store and a good takeaway cafe just down the road and 3 wineries within a 10 minute drive
Price for the week was 1050AUD
The owners, Martin and Janine, reside next door and can be easily reached if needed..the cottage comes with a phone that accepts in calls and will allow out calls to the immediate area...oh yes, a welcoming bottle of wine was appreciated...
A very relaxing stay away from the touristy Napier and yet within easy reach of everything you want in the area...highly recommended

Room Tip: Two cottages and both the same

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Te Awanga Cottages and absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is really well appointed with everything you might need, it's light and modern and very comfortable. Thanks for the lovely local bottle of Sauv too.

Very well appointed cottages and a good base when exploring the region. Comfy bed, cleverly designed cottages, practical, spacious, modern and very well maintained, the place is extremely clean, even both the decks!! Quality tea, coffee, olive oil, vinegar, a bottle of red & shower gels from the region is a lovely touch for guests. Plenty of fluffy towels. Washer & dryer great for long stays. Stayed here Feb 2012, if we had known the property was this great, we would have booked for longer. This place looks amazing, better than the pictures.
