We booked 3 nights at the Cottages and from start to finish our expereince exceeded expectations. Janine and Martin are superb, charming and unobtrusive hosts. They accomodated our unusual request (Large wedding cake storage). A complimentary bottle of local wine was wating for us when we arrived and the standard of accommodation is 5 star. Cottages is a misnomer and teh small houses have everything your could want. Ipod docks, full kitchen , exellent bathroom and separtate bathroom and two lovely decks. The place was spotless when we arrived and the finish and furnishings are of the highest quality. we loved meeting our hosts and would love to return.

Room Tip: Both cottages are 5 star.

This was our second 1 week stay here. The cottage has everything you could ask for..fully equipped kitchen, large sitting/dining area, king bed and a bath with a separate room for a soaker tub. There are decks on two sides of the cottages, both with a table and chairs.
Location is ideal...a 5 minute walk to the gannet tours and 15 minutes to Clifden. It's about 15 minute drive to Havelock, 20 to Hastings and about the same into Napier .There is a store and a good takeaway cafe just down the road and 3 wineries within a 10 minute drive
Price for the week was 1050AUD
The owners, Martin and Janine, reside next door and can be easily reached if needed..the cottage comes with a phone that accepts in calls and will allow out calls to the immediate area...oh yes, a welcoming bottle of wine was appreciated...
A very relaxing stay away from the touristy Napier and yet within easy reach of everything you want in the area...highly recommended

Room Tip: Two cottages and both the same

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Te Awanga Cottages and absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is really well appointed with everything you might need, it's light and modern and very comfortable. Thanks for the lovely local bottle of Sauv too.

Very well appointed cottages and a good base when exploring the region. Comfy bed, cleverly designed cottages, practical, spacious, modern and very well maintained, the place is extremely clean, even both the decks!! Quality tea, coffee, olive oil, vinegar, a bottle of red & shower gels from the region is a lovely touch for guests. Plenty of fluffy towels. Washer & dryer great for long stays. Stayed here Feb 2012, if we had known the property was this great, we would have booked for longer. This place looks amazing, better than the pictures.

Well placed for Vineyards tours, 4 in the same road if memeory serves me well !! Quality fittings and furnishings made our stay a memeorabkle experience. Close to Havelock North, Hastings and Napier and you can hear the sea from the room. Would certainly visit again next time were in that part of the world.

We stayed in the Moana cottage recently and loved it.The cottage is only a couple of minutes walk to Te Awanga on the outskirts of town.It is tastefully decorated and very well designed to make the most of all day sun as it has decks at the front & back of the cottage. It has a kitchen also a barbecue and has a separate bathing area that can be opened up so you feel like you're bathing outside ( it is very private). It also has a full laundry and separate shower & toilet. It is close to a lot of vineyards and there are extensive cycleways in the vicinity. We dined at Elephant Hill vineyard which was divine! It is close to Cape Kidnappers and only 30 mins drive to Napier. There are two cottages here(both very private from the other) so would be ideal for two couples travelling together. We were left a bottle of complimentary red wine which was a nice touch!!.We will definitely be back
