We had a very nice lunch followed by wine tasting. The food was very good in attractive open air surroundungs (although we got a bit chilly and moved indoors!) We also enjoyed the wine tasting and were helped by someone who was very knowledgeable and informative.

Brunch for 2 families at 11am. Restaurant fully booked for lunch but quiet while we were there. Food and coffee good but service not to standard it should be for this type of place. Staff seemed disinterested - food order taken but we had to ask for drinks orders. No gluten free bread (pretty mainstream now),had to ask for more coffee, out of diet coke that day and had to ask each time for more water. Also 2 meals (just bacon and eggs like the others) served quite a bit after the others. Just not the experience we were expecting and have in fact had in the past.

Whilst in Hawkes Bay Area on the wine trail as it were, we called in here.
Whilst we could accept a more rustic approach to whole experience, I am afraid this place was just very amateurish and run down. It certainly did nothing to enhance the wines which were quite good, we bought some.
There are so many estates run well, perhaps the owners ought to take a day of and visit some to compare. Sorry.

We walked in without having made a reservation and we were accommodated for a table of three for lunch! Great service, lovely food and plenty to do for an active three year old!

My wife and I visited this winery and restaurant on the recommendation of a guy at the Linden vinery which is just north of Napier and the first vinery you pass on your way into Napier from Taupo. His recommendation turned out to be superb!
Whilst it was extremely busy in the restaurant - it was Saturday lunchtime and they had a lot of parties and we had not reserved a table - we were given a r
Table in the garden very quickly and had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch
We had the sharing platter which had cold meats, cheese, mushrooms, olives and a whole load of other delicious tastes - together with the focaccia and oil with dukkha which was described by our waitress a 'human bird seed (she had a sense of humour) but which was really super with the bread and olive oil
The service was perfect, the wine great and the food well served and very tasty
All in all a great stop and one we would willingly return to
