I stayed whilst on business. We arrived in Karlskoga to pouring rain, deserted streets and a general feeling of misery after a long drive fr Stockholm, so I'm sure this contributed to the feeling the the Alfred Nobell was more of a prison than a hotel! The lobby was fine and the staff pleasant, but on venturing upstairs it was like travelling back to the 70s - tiny bed with thin mattress, stained carpet and walls, Bakolite telephone and heavy twin doors. Wifi is provided through a mobile phone company and hence is chargeable.
Location is good, with a few food places nearby - the curry house was perfectly adequate for our needs although a lot of the other places seemed to be little more than kebab shops.
Unfortunately the Bofors Hotel was closed for the holiday week, but I will certainly be staying there on my next visit in order to avoid the Alfred Nobell!
