“Never mind the expense - don't miss this place”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Best grilled fish ever but go early to watch the rich and beautiful arrive. Men a mixture of paunchy ex-footballers, heads of multi-national companies and villains. Obligatory for women to sport long blonde hair and wear white jeans. Deceptively casual but very professional. The most memorable experience of a three week holiday in Uruguay and Argentina. Not cheap but worth the money to step into this world for a couple of hours, and then step swiftly back out of it back to your real life.

“Just the best”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

We ate here every day for lunch. Delish grilled and fried fish. Great to linger over a few drinks and great food. Loved the people watching!

“Most popular restaurant at the beach”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I loved sitting at a table out on the sand, with a canvas tent shading us from the sun. The menu is extensive, I ordered salmon, cream chease and mango sushi - delicious!

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

The food was amazing--especially the seafood. Service mostly good, but it did take a long time to get and pay the check. Great atmosphere... Right on the beach. So nice to go casual and have top notch food. Only drawback: flies. It's the beach... Must deal with it, Highly recommend. If you are in Punta del Este, go to Jose Ignacio and eat at La Huella.

“Not that 'place to be'”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Well, to be honest, I had a great time with friend in this parador / beach club. Food was nice, atmosphere was nice, but I think it's all a bit overrated.

I had a miscommunication with one of the staff members. I ordered some wine (Clericot) but she didn't came back, so I ordered it again with another waitress. At the same time the first waitress came back with 4 Mojito's (!?!), the other waitress served our wine. The waitress with the Mojito's said we ordered them. I told her I ordered Clericot with her and not Mojito's . Then she made one BIG mistake: she showed me the 'talk to the hand' sign.

In my opinion, there is one thing in hospitality you NEVER do and that is arguing with a guest and make a VERY, VERY rude gesture in his face...

On the other hand: food was very nice and other staff members were nice as well. So the miscommunication didn't completely ruined my stay.
