Bush Pillow Guest House
Ranked #4 of 12 Otjiwarongo B&B and Inns
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Spent 2 nights here seeing the sights around Otjiwarongo. This place is easy to find just a few blocks outside the center of town. The room my wife and I were given was quite large with 2 separate rooms a rooms and a large bathroom.

Ceiling fan in the room did the job keeping it cool. The bed was quite comfortable. The only problem with the bathroom was the tub had no curtain so when showering water went everywhere.

We enjoyed a nice hot breakfast each morning with good coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal.

The inn keeper was quite helpful directing us to the local sites. We enjoyed the waterberg plateau, seeing the cheetahs and the old train engine. Be careful with your travel planning as Otiwarango is a small town with little open on Sundays.

This is a good stopping point between windhoek and etosha.

Thank you for your great comments Ushela03.

We are very pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay with Bush Pillow and that the hospitality lived up to your expectations.

You are right in saying that Otjiwarongo is a great stop on your way to the North and there is for sure a lot of hidden treasures which we are pleased to share even if you have to stop over on a Sunday.

You would be happy to learn that the room you stayed in is due to have a complete renovation before the end of 2013 and the bathroom will be changed into the very popular wet bathroom with a separate shower.

We hope that we would see you again on a future visit where we will be able to share our new upgraded room with you!

This is a lovely B&B with a great homey feel to it. The room was very nice, AC makes all the difference when coping with the Namibian heat. Breakfasts were delicious with a large selection from cold cereals to eggs "cooked to order". The owners were great with suggestions and very friendly. Made me feel like a friend rather than a guest. Great place to stay.

It was such a pleasure to have you with us at Bush Pillow. We are very glad that we could be your home away from home. We are glad that you felt like a friend as this means we achieved exactly what the Bush Pillow experience should achieve.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the AC. This was a new milestone for the Bush Pillow and we are always looking at new ways to improve the comfort of our guests.
We are looking forward to being your host again should you return to Namibia in the future.

It was a great pleasure to be your hosts in Otjiwarongo. Glad to hear that you enjoyed our fresh fruit salad and that it surpassed your standards. You would be happy to hear that half of our rooms now have air conditioning units as well which means you would even have a more comfortable stay with us on your next visit.

Lovely appointed and very clean rooms with renovated bathroom. Breakfast room, common areas and outdoor spaces charming and well-maintained. Proprietors are friendly and receptive to your needs (wine and soft drinks readily available). Breakfasts made to your liking as well as traditional buffet items. The optional evening meal we tried was traditional but tasty and served by candlelight. Comfortable bed but without air conditioning on hot, summer nights, the fan barely made a difference, so mind the weather when you stay there. The 44 kilometer trip to the Cheetah Conservation Fund requires more than the 45 minutes suggested by our GPS: minimum of an hour depending on your vehicle and driving speed. Great location to explore CCF and surrounding areas. Great value for money spent!

Thank you for your kind words and we are very exciting that you enjoyed your stay as much as you did.
We have noticed your comment about the lack of air conditioning at the Guest House and we certainly agree that the Namibian temperatures could be harsh at times. The management and owners have discussed this several times and we have decided to equip all of our rooms with air conditioning units with in the next months to come and hopefully all by the end of the year.
Thank you once again for your stay and we surely hope to see you back again in the future!

The guest house is compact and friendly. The food is excellent and the manager is very nice. The only problem that needs looking into is a fitting of a door between the bedroom and the toilet if at all possible.

Thank you for your comments Andy.
We do take all our Tripadvisor reviews serious and although you enjoyed your stay we realised that the bathroom door was somehow a let down. We have in the mean time installed a door and our return and new guest will not have the same problem.
Hoping that we will be able to offer you our pleasant service again in the near future.
