We gave our name at the gate to get into the resort. The bellman greeted us by name took our luggage and brought us to some comfy couches to settle in for the check-in process. A waiter came by and greeted us by name and gave us a couple of iced teas. Then a front desk clerk came over with our paper work to check in. We took care of it all while resting in comfy leather furniture. We then went to his desk to run our credit card and someone from the spa came to us to exfoliate our hands and apply some great smelling lotion then the bellman came back to us and brought us to our room with our luggage. I wish all check-ins went like that!
All rooms have a pool/ocean view. The restaurant was wonderful. The pool bar was fun and the hot tubs overlooked the beach. Perfect right. Well it really was there is nothing to complain about.
The hotel is the last hotel on the Nuevo Vallarta strip of hotels. The reason I bring that up is because horse rides can be done going north on the non-populated beaches...Really great ride to Bucerrias the next town.

I can't believe how much I liked this resort. First, the value was great- we paid about $200 a night for a one bedroom with 2 full baths and a kitchen. Full breakfast was also included in that rate. The property was relatively new and our suite was in excellent condition. It had top of the line appliances, plush furniture, washer/dryer, granite countertops, etc.. I liked the color scheme and furnishings so much that I would like to add some similar touches to our home we're remodeling. The suite was impeccably clean and well maintained. From what I could tell, all of the rooms faced the ocean, but some had obstructed views. Ours directly faced the ocean and we could even see whales from our balcony. As other reviewers mentioned, the only drawback to the room was the shared balcony. The hotel did put up a temporary divider between our side and the other side, but it could be easily moved. I'm not sure the next room was even occupied, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving the balcony door open when we slept.

The public areas were beautiful and what you would expect from a high end luxury hotel. The pool area was stunning and not very crowded. It was not difficult to find empty chairs. There were several hot tubs facing the ocean. I can't even describe how relaxing it was to sit in the hot tub or in beach chairs looking at the ocean. My kids loved the pool and hammocks on the beach. We couldn't get them to leave Estancia to even go next door to the sister hotel. The only drawback was that the only bar was a swim up bar, but there was always a waiter around to take drink orders by our pool chairs. The fitness center was well equipped and well maintained.

The food was good and the service was amazing. The Estancia staff was top notch. Almost everyone was unfailingly polite and attentive. By the pool, there was always someone around to take food/drink orders or get a towel. The only problem we ran into was during check-in. We arrived around 1pm. The front desk checked us in and then said he would check on our room. We waited in the lobby for 20 minutes before asking him about our room and he told us it wouldn't be ready for an 1 1/2 hours. Since we were early, I didn't expect our room to be ready, but I was annoyed that they left us sitting there in the lobby without saying anything. Another couple complained they had been sitting there for almost an hour before being told their room wasn't ready. We got lunch and lounged by the pool while we waited for our room.

I thought the food was better than the outside restaurants we went to. The prices were comparable or even a little less than other high end resorts we've been to. For 2 adults and 2 children, we spent about $30 on food and non-alcoholic drinks for lunch every day. The alcohol was about $7-10 for mixed drinks, which is about what luxury hotels in the US would charge.

The beach was also stunning, but the waves were too rough especially for small children. Our kids liked the hotel so much we had a hard time getting them out on the beach beyond the hotel, so we didn't see much beyond Bucerias, a small town about a 20 minute walk away.

For those looking for nightlife and clubs, Estancia isn't the place for that. The nearest restaurants are a 20-30 minute walk or about a 80 peso cab ride away. This resort is really for those who want a quiet, luxury beach vacation.

What a great place to stay, the room was perfect, clean, and cozy, just hop on the deck to lay down and watch the ocean or sunset, very beautiful. The pool is great, beach clean and people very nice. This place has everything you would need. I would difintely stay at this place again.

We returned to this elegant resort after one year and loved it as much as the first time. This time we got a car so were able to venture out more. But we loved the resort so much we spent a good deal of time on site. Sitting by the pool, watching the birds off the beach, listening to the waves at night. It's very quiet and relaxed. Right next door at the sister property it is more lively - beach more crowded, more activities. But we prefer the stately elegance of Estancia. Go, enjoy.

Just returned from a week at Villa La Estancia and we are already counting the days until we can return. Directly on a sandy beach that stretches for miles.Multilevel pool and four beachfront hot tubs give you lots of choices of where to get wet, Our 1 bedroom suite was huge,.with 2 full baths, a well equipped kitchen , and a balcony with two chaises, dining table chairs.. Everything is immaculate.
The service is above and beyond that which we have experienced at any resort. We felt pampered even before we went to the spa. Spa is beautiful and reasonably priced.
All told everything you could wish for a relaxing vacation.
