This place is first class we loved it. Amazing ocean view room. it has some time share downsides, everyone is selling. Professionally and pleasantly, but they will ask. As a salesperson myself I understand everyone has a job to do. It did not impact our ability to relax and feel pampered all week long. Food was great. We didn't take the all-inclusive because we had heard about all the great places to eat in and around the resort and concern for the ability to get a diverse set of meals. We shouldn't have worried. Between the The Flamingo and the Villa Estancia we could have eaten there all week long and felt satisfied. Felt safe the whole time we were there. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, small town. beach. hotel, large town, very taken care of and served. Nice having two properties to go too. Much more action at Flamingo but a quiet and comfortable atmosphere at restaurants, pool and beach at Villa. How are you feeling that day? choose it. We received exceptional service from Omar the bellman, Oscar the beach and pool attendant as well as Astrid our ready with any answer concierge. Recommend it highly.

We love VLE Nayarit. We have stayed here many times in different condos and found each one to be beautifully decorated and maintained. My only suggestion would be to bring your own coffee filters and coffee if you plan to use their in room coffee maker,
plus laundry detergent to use the washer and dryer in room, paper towels or napkins, as these are NOT provided by the owners. The market is limited in what it has for renters so if you plan to stay a week or more, you may want to go to the MEGA to stock up on essentials

Room tip: units in all three buildings but Bldg 3 first floor towards the ocean can be situated by the lunch restaurant noisier during the day

We loved staying there, place was serene and luxurious. People working there were perfect in every way possible; from personal attentiveness to superb customer service. Especially I want to thank pool butler Rommel, he went above and beyond helping us as well as making unforgivable gift for my wife arranging bathtub with flowers and scents! Thank you Rommel, thank you Ricarde you guys were awesome!!!

We are a family of 5 who stayed in the 3 bedroom ocean front room. We went through our travel agent to book the room for 7 days.

Pro's: This is a beautiful property and the staff do a great job keeping it fresh. The beach is just beautiful and the grounds as well. The room was lovely as well.

The following people did an outstanding job during our stay- going above & beyond:
Beach Server: Eduardo,
Pool/Beach Helpers: Esbai & Oscar
Manager of the Italian restaurant
Alexandro at the Sushi restaurant

Cons: Where to start?
We had trouble as soon as we arrived. We were not given our All-Inclusive designation as they did not put our reservation in the computer correctly. It took 90 mins to fix this on day 2 and all the while, I had to deal with Estaban. Estaban did not give us the AI bracelets we needed nor gave us any info regarding what the hotel had to offer.

During that time I asked for restaurant reservations but was told they don't have them, just show up and we would be taken care of. This was a big lie. We were told we needed them as we got to the restaurants for dinner. I was told the same thing by Javier too. Sigh - they were just so horrible that by the 3rd day - I had my husband deal with them instead. He went straight to the manager Mr. Avila. Who said all things would be better from now on. Since half our trip was done, we said fine - but our expectations were much less.

That same day, the hotel was painting near our room and the smell was awful. I asked about it in the AM but by 2:00pm, they still did nothing. Then, my husband asked them to deal with it, they sprayed perfume throughout the room. When we arrived back at the room at 3:00pm, all the doors to the room were open, but no one was in it. We closed it up and complained and they went back to "fix" it. By 4:00pm, the smell was gone, but so was $20 out of each my 3 kids wallets. While 2 of my boys had their wallets in plain site, my daughter's was in her backpack, in a purse and then in a wallet. We felt fortunate that all our passports and our real cash were in the room safe. This was a good life lesson for our teenage children when traveling. That said, the manager never contacted us again to see how our stay was going. He left 2 bottles of wine for our troubles.

All Inclusive: This is just an incredible bad deal for us. I would not recommend it for anyone. Here is the deal. The restaurant employee's work very hard. They do not have enough servers so it takes a minimum of 45 mins for any food or drink to be delivered. They are also told that guests can't have more than 2 drinks a day ordered to the room (we requested soda & water) and they will not restock in the refrigerator. So I had to call and request drinks every day. They also don't tell you that you can make restaurant reservations but you need to do it directly with each place. It is extremely difficult to manage this but think about it, if they don't let you in the restaurant, they don't have to feed you the nicer food which will save them money. After many complaints, the hotel manager Mr. Avila allowed us (our butler) to make reservations for the final 4 evenings of our trip.

Many promises were made from the website that were not kept.
*1 complimentary beach bag for light use -Nope
* 1 welcome cheese board (We were all inclusive but never happened- I did call and request one each day though)
*1 welcome bottle of wine - Nope
* L’occitane bathroom amenities kit - This was great but only came on the 1st day and would not restock. (they lasted 3 days)
1 “Make your Own Michelada” Kit - don't know what this is??
1 bathroom preparation per stay- don't know what this is??
Nightly Turndown service with Ferrero Rocher chocolates - Yes, but had to call each day for turndown service and they had handmade treats, not Ferrero Rocher.
Aromatherapy experience - Nope!

Personalized Butler assistance throughout your stay - Our butler was Fidel, he was lovely but was away our 1st 2 1/2 days of our trip. No replacement. By day 4, we had a routine going - but it was hard to get into the groove since our trip was almost over.
Packing & unpacking service - Did not happen
Light press (ironing) service (2 articles per stay, per person, upon arrival). - Did not happen
Shoe shine service- Did not happen
Sunset Champagne ritual - Did not happen nor offered
Enjoy theme nights and restaurants at our sister hotel Villa del Palmar Flamingos
Pillow menu - Nope.

Bottom Line:

If you are looking for a condo to rent through VRBO or something similar - and want to cook your own meals or go into town - this is a great place to be. There is a Mega grocery store nearby and it would be easy to get supplies.

If you are an owner, they have special places that are roped off for you to sit on the beach or special places at the restaurants/pool - but if you are not an owner, you are not allowed to be there. So if you are an owner - this may be great for you.

The place is beautiful and the rooms/beach are gorgeous. If you are like us and want to just relax on holiday and be taken care of by the staff - unfortunately, this is not the place.
I would not stay here if you want a "nice hotel" experience.

This was our 5th stay at Villa La Estancia and hopefully not our last! We rent from an owner not the hotel, as we stay for a month. Everyday is a perfect summer day, from the moment we are greeted with “Welcome home” to our last. Jerry, Raul, and especially Andres, are always friendly, helpful and courteous at the door. The overall staff are always so friendly and work hard to make sure your stay is a happy one. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and impeccably cared for by everyone. Rommel, the new Suite Butler, took time each day to say hello, engage in friendly conversation and ensure that all our needs were being met. He even surprised us with a lovely floral arrangement, bottle of wine, and the hot tub filled with bubbles, flowers and candles all around...very special!!! Together with Rommel, Miguella, the Manager of maid services, and Mika, made sure our room was cleaned when no one showed up at the scheduled time. All our maids, including Felix provided wonderful service each week! The L’Occitane bath products are lovely and getting extra towels was always easy! And Esbai provided excellent, efficient service around the pool.

We are always comfortable and feel like we are at home. There is more than enough room for the two of us and plenty of room for our things in the triple clothing closet, dressers and food pantry off the kitchen. The washer and dryer and wet sink are great for doing laundry when needed.

The peaceful, serenity of the pool and ocean view is spoiled by the number of floaties that Oscar puts in the pool for the children. We originally chose this resort because it appeared to be quiet and more for adults. Although the depth of the pools is not deep for adults, it is not a safe depth for young children. Other than the splash pad or the area nearest the ocean, the water is above the heads of an average 5/6 year old child. The number of young children in the pool has increased considerably. Last year the pool was closed for three days, and this year, once due to contamination. The problem was quickly resolved this year as the pool staff were consistently monitoring the pools and whirlpools on a daily basis.

Another major issue was that halfway through our stay, a new manager at VLE created a new rule that guests would no longer be able to order ice water from the waiters. After many complaints, it was rescinded. However, the water is not to be garnished with a piece of fruit nor come in a VLE cup. And the waiters are reluctant to serve you unless making a paid order from La Parilla. When the water at the resort is of such high quality, you shouldn’t have to order bottled water. Seems like such a petty issue, but leaves a bad impression. Perhaps, guests could help themselves to water from a jug of bottled water with a stack of cups at each end of the pool.

Other than the pool issues, we absolutely love VLE and hope to return again next year!!!

Room tip: Choose building one for a beautiful sunset.
