“Great setting and good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

This cafe has a wonderful setting and evokes the bygone era of Cuba in the 1950's. Vintage travel posters adorn the walls and photos of Marilyn Monroe, and Fidel Castro and Ernest Hemingway add to the ambience. The front patio looks over a sun drenched courtyard in Cupecoy and inside you'll find large overstuffed leather chairs.

The food is not mind-blowing but very dependable. We were there for breakfast...my partner had an omelette with tomato, goat cheese and asparagus. I had the breakfast combo with pancakes, fruit salad, eggs and bacon. A fine breakfast in a wonderful setting.

“just added to our list”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2014

We luckily tried something new on our last day on the way to the airport...we told them we had a flight to catch and they made sure had our food on time....the owner came over to us at the end and asked us if everything was OK...always appreciate that in a restaurant...food VG! esp the soup...:)

“Unique, Welcoming and Wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2014

We are in Porto Cupecoy for 2 weeks and went to Ernest and Fidel's today for lunch. The decor of this restaurant is Cuban / Caribbean and the food is hand crafted from premium ingredients. As we dined, we enjoyed the calming, upscale setting of Porto Cupecoy. Prices are moderate, the food and service, spectacular. This is one of our new FAVORITES!

“Yes, Ernest & Fidel again”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013

Quality breakfast dishes, but the restaurant also serves lunch. The setting is just lovely, out in the open, and protected from any possible rain. The omelettes are very good, and so is the coffee, espresso and cappuccinos. This time I didn't have one of the restaurant's special juices.

“Great lunch, big recommendation!”

Just opened again yesterday after remodelling, really nicely done, the place lives! We had a complete lunch, great variety of dishes, delicious, all freshly cooked and good size portions. We loved the concept of the cafe, compliments to the owner Felipe, he's the master of special service!
