“A quiet home away from home”

We stayed in one of their apartments as we were down for an extended a stay. Everything was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very courteous and helpful when we were in need of something. They were also very kind and understanding when our flights were subsequently canceled/delayed. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed for a couple of nights while in Lakefield for family. It's a quaint hotel, with each room decorated a little differently, lovely quilts, comfy armchairs. Our room was clean and quiet. We have previously stayed in one of the suites, which was lovely as well, with the whirlpool tub and fireplace. Front desk staff is helpful, the included breakfast offers a variety of cold items. Lakefield is a lovely and interesting village, and while not lively at night, it makes for a very pleasant stay. Having the restaurant adjoining the hotel is very convenient as well, although it is not actually part of the hotel.

The Village Inn was a welcome retreat on a recent bike trip through the area. The room was chearful and clean and good value for the price. It's nice to stay at an independently owned hotel. The front desk folks were helpful too in terms of letting us see a room and recommending places to eat.

This place is clean and the rooms are well appointed, with fridge, coffee maker, nice bathroom and comfortable clean beds. The staff is friendly and Lakefield is very pretty and quaint. The only problem with this inn is that they run a pub on the first floor and bring in live bands (they say only on Friday nights, but I'd check before ever going again). When the band is playing, you cannot sleep in any room. The bass reverberates right through the whole hotel. I think that they have to make a difficult choice: they can either be a nice quiet quaint little inn and turn the pub into a restaurant, or they can be a roadhouse with a few rooms upstairs for the band and the drunks who can't drive home. But they can't run a roadhouse with a quaint little inn attached.

My boyfriend and I stayed in a suite for the night and loved it. From check in to check out the staff was unbelievably accommodating and friendly and the room was astonishingly quaint. It felt like a cozy private cottage with the beautiful quilt bed spread to the shabby chic furniture. The jacuzzi in the bedroom that overlooked the main street was super romantic with the provided candles and 180 degree view from the bay window that surrounded it. The price of this room was shocking considering I would have paid the same price for a generic room at the motel 6 or holiday inn in town. We love love loved it! We also enjoyed a delicious meal at cassis bistro which was recommended by the front desk attendant when I first arrived. 5 stars

Average place, food in house was marginal. Nothing to do in the village....will stay in Peterborough next time. No theatres, public transportation, or activities. Pretty sleepy especially if you are on business and would like something to do at night. Having to drive into Peterborough all the time was a bit of an aggravation.

We went thinking the would be kind of like an overnight getaway, but found the rooms to be very basic. Clean and comfortable enough, but certainly not a getaway. Nicely located on the main street, but surprisingly quiet, especially considering the Thirsty Loon pub is just downstairs.

Room Tip: As good as you will be able to find in Lakefield, basic accommodations, not much else to choose from

I am sorry that the room did not meet your expectations. We do offer Suites that are better suited for "couples getaways" that have corner fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. The Inn itself is geared to be a quiet boutique hotel. Although the Inn does not offer recreational activities, the front desk staff is knowledgeable of the many activities that are offered in and around the Village.
