Dimitsana lies close to the beautiful Gorge of Loissos and the river that runs through it. From Arris and Lena Amanites' Guest house the views are breath taking. Our hosts were incredibly attentive and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. From Amanites it is possible to explore a myriad of little mountain villages and of course the famous gorge and some wonderful monasteries. In the monastery of Prodremos we were served coffee andTurkish delights by a wonderful monk who exuded peace and calm.
Our breakfasts were superb. A wonderful array of food and home made delicacies challenged our will power and waist lines. We had off street parking which was a real boon as parking in the streets is at a premium. Every morning our host helped us plan expeditions and drew little detailed maps for us. At Amanites one experiences true hospitality in the old way. A haven of peace away from the bustle of the cities and tourist destinations. It's a must for any serious Grecophile.
