“Excellent accommodation, well equipped, historic house in quaint French village”
Reviewed October 11, 2011 for a stay in September 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this delightful home. Our breakfasts and evening meals on the terrace were highlights of our days spent exploring Provence. The owners have done an amazing job in reconstructing an old bulding into a well designed, very attractive and comfortable home. The house is very roomy and the kitchen is exceptionally well-stocked. The owners are very accommodating to deal with and their daughter, who lives close by was very helpful as well. The village is delightful, with a good bakery and a small, but well-stocked village grocery. The very narrow but quaint village streets are interesting to explore, and there are good walking trails nearby. The village is in a good location, close to many interesting towns and tourist sights, including Les Baux., Arles, Remy St. Martin and Avignon. The local hotel puts on a very tasty evening meal, but booking ahead is essential. Without parking on site, accessibility may be an issue for those who can't easily carry their luggage.

“Lovely home in historic village”
Reviewed June 3, 2011 for a stay in May 2011

The owner, Les, was a pleasure with whom to correspond and from whom to lease. Les and his wife, Margaret, have put a lot of care into decorating their home and making it comfortable. We were sorry to leave and wish we could have stayed longer.

We particularly appreciated the roominess, the privacy, the delightful, peaceful location and the helpful information provided by the owners. We cooked our meals in the well equipped kitchen and really appreciated the plentiful hot water.

The village is quiet, historic and filled with friendly residents. We enjoyed going to the local shops each day to get our food. There are several hikes an easy walk from La Maison du Puits which we thoroughly enjoyed. The views are spectacular when you reach your destination. Too, the village is a good location for day excursions to Nimes, Avignon and other points of historical and local interest. A rental car is needed.

It did take us a bit of time to get used to the local church bells. However, the many excellent features of La Maison du Puits, the village and the surrounding area made our stay wonderful.

We hope to return soon and would not hesitate to do so.

“Well-equipped, interesting Provencal house in quiet village near to Avignon”

This was our 3rd visit to La Maison, this time at a cooler time of year, permitting access to the nearby hills for walking. The house is a charming conversion inside the ramparts of an ancient bastide. It is well-appointed and very comfortable. It's located in a very quiet village and well placed to visit all manner of attractions in this Rhone valley area. The guest book entries are a testament to the satisfaction enjoyed by all visitors. Lack of vehicle access and steps to the small terrace might not suit the infirm.
