“Within the terminal, relatively modern”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2010

This business airport hotel is integrated in the terminal (SkyCity) and therefore perfectly located for early flights as the ride with the ArlandaExpress train takes 20mins. from Stockholm city. It’s a relatively modern hotel, the hallways a bit outdated like my business room. I liked the fact that the room was absolutely sound-proof. There’s a little bath room, Nespresso-coffee machine, complicated ironing board. The breakfast was Scandinavia-like ok, and there’s a full size fitness center and a business center in the lobby.
As mentioned just suitable for an early flight out of Stockholm-Arlanda

Radisson Sky City is an airport hotel - literally right in the airport. Convenience if you're flying is unparalleled. However, not the place to stay for any other reason.

LOCATION - Radisson is located in Terminal 5 of the Arlanda International Airport, supremely convenient if you have an eary flight. You still have to walk to the far other end of the airport to check in, though, and then all the way back if you have an international flight. Very odd. The train station (for the regional trains - not Arlanda Express) is located right across the aisle. Doesn't get any more convenient for this if you're only staying in the area because you're flying early. If you are visiting Stockholm, this is not the place to stay. The airport is like 30 minutes+ from Stockholm City, and cab rides are not cheap in Sweden. There are only a few restaurants around to eat at in the terminal, and a couple of shops. If you're not flying the next day, you should think to stay elsewhere.

ROOMS - The rooms are super tiny. 19 square meters (200 square feet). Even the business rooms are this small. You can barely move. However, they are modern and comfortable, with a Tempur-pedic Swedish foam mattress. There is a desk, a flat screen TV, a wet bar, a nice bathroom with a tub/shower combo, and mirrored closet doors. An iron and ironing board are standard. There is no view (the terminal) but it is convenient to airport amenitites. Ridiculous for 19 square meters to warrant a $300 per night rate, but hey people like us were dumb enough to pay it.

AMENITIES - This is an airport hotel, so amenities are slim, but there is a pretty good albeit expensive restaurant on site (Stockholm Fisk) and bar, plus there are a few other independent restaurants and shops nearby in the airport.

BUSINESS - There is free wireless internet which is nice, but the desk is so small only one person has a place to use the internet. There is a business center and conference room. There is an internet plug as well as wireless in the room. Worked well, even at the bar (had to go to the bar because the room was so darn small).

SERVICE - Virtually no service was required. We waited for 10 minutes in line to check in, then finally another employee decided to host us. Nice enough, smooth check in. At the restaurant, the staff was supremely untrained, and only halfway pleasant, not impressive at all. But that's Sweden.

VALUE - Totally not worth $300 a night, but they are playing the airport card. The nearest other accommodation is super simple and inconveniently located, except Radisson Blu which is close by but almost the same price.

OVERALL - I wouldn't recommend paying $300/nt to stay here, but it is really convenient for an early flight. Super small but comfortable rooms. Dont' stay here if you are not flying out the next day. Arlanda Express can have you in Stockholm in 20 minutes, but at a price. Cabs aren't cheap either.

Boring view over Sky city but perfect closeness to the terminals. For dinner the Stockholm fisk restaurant is not the best - but the only a la carte in the Sky City. bBut overnight something happens - from 0500 in the morning the best ever breakfast buffet is served.

The rooms are not big but as most people only stay for one night, that's ok. Coffemaker, all the essentials are there. Some have criticized the slow wireless, but then use the cable connection which is really fast.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. I arrived very early in the morning, thinking I would have to wait until 2 PM to check in, but the cordial man at the desk said he could get me into a room right then, and it turned out to be no extra charge!

The room was small, but OK. Very quiet and the convenience of being located inside the airport was great. The bed was very comfortable and the internet and temperature control worked very well.

I was a bit put off by the maids who asked if they needed to clean the room. One knocked on my door and said, "I wanted to ask you a question." "What?" I said. "Do you want me to clean the room?" I simply said yes. This was one minor negative, but it was more than counteracted by all the positives.

We stayed at the Radisson for one night as we had a very early morning flight from Terminal 5 at Arlanda Airport. As the Radisson is located right at the terminal this was very convenient for us so we opted to stay there on our last night in Sweden.

The rooms are very clean, modern and extremely comfortable. All the amenities one would require are in the room and despite being bang in the middle of the airport it was very quiet and we weren't disturbed at all by the noise. It feels weird to look out of the window and see the terminal but the whole point of our being there was for the proximity to the terminal so I can't complain. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi which was a great touch.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay close to Arlanda airport. Of all the airport hotels I've stayed in I would definitely say this has been the best.

Stayed here for one night, thinking that an in-the-airport hotel would be a convenience for picking up a rental car the next morning and taking to the road. There certainly are some aspects of convenience....but it's not necessarily seamless to get things done here. People movers in the airport were down in places making pushing baggage carts a little laborious. At this particular moment there is much construction going on at the hotel restaurant.....and they start early in the morning, so you're greeted early with a lot of banging and hammering noises....and entering the restaurant for breakfast was literally walking through a construction zone. This will be temporary and hopefully the construction will result in improvements at some point. The internet signal was unusable.....very flakey.....I phoned for help on it and (it's a long story) in the end the staff displayed a degree of indifference about the issue.....which is probably the worst thing hotel staff can ever do to a guest....it was not persuasive of further stays at this property. I had booked a business class room and the room itself was tight quarters.....but it was clean and modern. All in all, I don't believe I would look forward to another stay at this property.....I would stay again only if compelled by unavoidable events.

and the room itself was quite nice, although somewhat tight quarters.

It’s an airport hotel, at the actual airport, so convenience is great with this establishment. Rooms are spacious enough, although be prepared to walk a long way if your room is not close to the elevators.

We spent the day at the conference centre a couple of floors lower, and that was perfectly acceptable. Eating out means eating at an airport restaurant, and availability of bars is scarce late in the evening. That meant we had to empty our minibars and have a little party in the lobby, which wasn’t very practical after all, as they were closing it pretty early too.

Rooms have no views except from another airport building 30 feet away, and you desperately feel the need to get outside after half a day or more in the conference/hotel/terminal area. But for sleeping between flights or before an early morning departure, I’d say this is a very good choice.
