Spent four days here on a tennis trip with friends a couple of weeks ago. It's about 25 minutes from Murcia airport. Very spacious, resort type hotel. Our room was quite a walk from reception but very well appointed and comfortable. Lovely view over pool on one side and golf course on other. The breakfast was superb, as good as we've had including fresh orange juice, fruit, and excellent choice of traditional fried breakfast. Hotel bar open quite late with a live music which was quite entertaining. Service overall good. The tennis centre is about 8-10 minutes walk from hotel, although there's a regular shuttle bus service available.

Hotel is modern and stylish with nice interior touches. Room facing the 18th hole was superb. Really large and quiet, with great views over one of the three golf courses. Would suggest checking numbers dining when booking for dinner. Quite often large parties of golfers can spoil a quiet dinner for two. So beware! Can get really noisy and acoustics in main restaurant not good. Having said that, the staff were great, really helpful, and breakfast was excellent. Good buffet choice. All restaurants on resort are expensive, so good idea to dine off complex. Having said that, poolside lunch was a firm favourite with us.

Room Tip: Would suggest trying for a quiet room away from the piano bar.

We were here with a big group on a golf-training holiday for 4 nights. Facilities are very good, very nice courses, especially the West course. Service was overall ok, their english is not too good, even though english/ germans are bringing a lot of Business...the place was doing well, quite busy, courses full (also due to the EccoTour which was ongoing while we were there). Driving range area is very poor, work in progress, and a Driver could not be used...
Breakfast buffet was fantastic, high quality. But for dinner their various restaurants are way overpriced; quality is not good vs. price paid. The Asia charged 10 euro for 3 sticks of Sate as an appetizer. Their loungebar had good live entertainment but again, their food is not ok; 14 euro or so for a simple Club sandwich...but for a late night snack on arrival night we were good with that and some beers. We went twice out to town for a great tapas and wine evening; now that is value for money Spanish style!!! Overall we had a great stay in this resort, fun and sun!

It is good to spend your holiday practising sports, in our case tennis and golf.

The tennis club is quite impressive, with plenty of clay courts, good quality of the teachers and the environment is relaxed and friendly and it is just 5 minutes walking from the hotel.

The golf courses of the hotel, South and North, are good, greens well maintained, though fairways are a bit dry. The South one is long and flat. The North one is shorter and less busy. Views of the sea from most of the holes are nice. The club house bar has ridiculous prices, 10 euros for 2 litres of water. The West course is not good, long grass in the greens, poor service, no pitching and driving range to warm up, extremely hilly, narrow fairways, not so well maintained, though enjoyable anyway at the end. My first choice is the North one in the morning, to avoid the (very!!!) windy afternoons.

The hotel is good, though for a 5 star you would expect something better: rooms are roomy, but the shower leaked water, flooding the room; the free option of the wifi is useless; the half board is a bit annoying, because you have to use vouchers that you show at the restaurant to be offered a restricted menu. Though the food is excellent, I would expect something more discrete and sophisticated for a 5 star hotel than a bunch of vouchers.

The restaurant in La Cala is a good option for a lunch by the sea, a decent fried fish and grilled fresh squid, though the service is a bit clunky, review your bill... Breakfast is great and service is good throughout your stay.

All in all I would say it is a 4 star rather than a 5.

Stayed here with 11 friends. Ranging from 24 to 60 on a golfing holiday. The hotel is fantastic.

Staff; very helpful and the free shuttle is great.

Rooms; very clean and plush. Tv's are good, balconies are nice. Bath rooms very nice.

Food; only ate breakfast here, but was amazing. Great selection and egg chef is nice touch.

Golf; all on site and 3 great courses.

Hotel cafe by the pool is spot on for a cold beer on a warm afternoon.

Best bit was the piano bar. Live acts were quality.

30 euro to use the internet for a week?! come on La Manga get with the programme. No docking station in our room or facilities to charge our tablets? The Golf bar whilst we where there was understaffed and almost impossible to get served at. We had upgraded our room which on reflection seemed to be a waist of money as talking to the rest of our group we couldn't see what the benefits where. The had an ecco tour thing going on whilst we where there so lots of young Professional golfers!! one of our rounds took 5.5hrs!! I wouldn't rush back.

Enjoyed a three night, 2 rounds of golf break in March. Hotel merits its 5 star rating. Rooms are large and pleasantly furnished. Breakfast is excellent in a diningroom with beautiful views of the golf course and beyond. One disappointment was absence of smoked salmon in the cold buffet option. Another was charging for internet access. This is unacceptable in an expensive hotel especially when you can go down the road and get an excellent coffee for a Euro with free internet access. Evening dining is expensive. However off the resort and within a kilometre or so there are excellent Spanish restaurants well worth a visit e.g., La Rusticana.
Golf courses are well maintained but busy. Expect a 5 hour round.
