We enjoyed our stay on this small estate high up on the mountainside at the end of the valley. Our bungalow room was fairly new and tastefully, though simply decorated, with a small internal lounge and an outside balcony with deckchairs. There is a decent lounge/restaurant area in the main building where you can chat to other guests, but the main feature of the area is the wonderful views over misty mountains, and the guided walks through cardomum plantations over to the tea estates. It takes, I think about 40 minutes to Munnar, but we drove to Madurai and the drive through tea estates with wonderful lake views was incredible. We were also very grateful to one of the staff who took us on a tour to the rice fields in the valley and through a spice estate and local village.

Food is simply cooked but tasty.

Room Tip: The bungalow is building new honeymoon suites which are set a little aside from the other bungalows. In festival season, there is occasionally a lot of loud music in the valley which can drift up, so earplugs might be useful if you want peace.

We had a wonderful time at Casa del Fauno. Our host, Suni, was gracious, the food lovely, the views spectacular and the air was cool. We enjoyed walks amongst tea and cardamom fields. It was very peaceful and the rooms luxurious. Prinil was a knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended.

Our first stop in Kerala on our first trip to India - I can't think of a better place to start! Peaceful location with stunning views; great service - including entertaining fireworks on Christmas Eve; simple, comfortable room; delicious food. A lovely place to stay. Thank you.

Very peaceful almost-homestay high up, with magnificent views. We were met on arrival and given a cup of tea, then taken to our room and told we could have lunch as soon as we were ready. We tried to refuse lunch, but our host seemed to be not taking no for an answer! Our room/cottage was down quite a few steps away from the main house. Simple but clean and well presented. No air-con or heating (and neither proved necessary while we were there), but nice private terrace looking out over the hills and valley. Lunch a delicious light meal of rice, yoghurt curry sauce, cabbage, yam curry and pickles. Spiced spaghetti milk pudding. Glad we had it.

This place is 20km north of the town of Munnar, so don't go thinking you are 'in town'. However, Munnar is not much to write home about, so this is no bad thing, but it does mean a trip with transport if you want to see the Tea Museum or do any other local activities. Your host will take you on a walk round the cardamom plantation if you wish - about half an hour and very pleasant.

Though this place may be a bit away from Munnar town,it is so peaceful and serene. The hosts are very nice ( Pranil ).The owner - Suni - whom we couldnt meet but dealt with bookings over phone from Cochin - was very nice and pleasant in her conversations.

The chef they have is one of the best we have encountered and prepared every item ( vegetarian only ) with great care and appreciable taste.

Dont forget to go for a walk on their cardamom plantation - though please ensure your feet is covered well to avoid contact with any insects / leeches ( nothing to worry but just a caution )

Highly recommended and one of the best places for forgetting your stressful life !!!
