At first sight Andretta artists' village seems like a typical Himachali village: picturesque, clean, pretty and serene. But it boasts of more. For starters, there is the Sobha Singh Art Gallery which, apart from showcasing some of his most notable paintings like Sohni-Mahiwal, also has his own personal belongings on display. The building housing this gallery is where the artist lived so it's actually more than a gallery; it's a fascinating museum. Then there is the lovely mud-plastered cottage of Norah Richards, a playwright and writer credited with the rise of Punjabi theatre. However, Andretta is most famous for its eponymous glazed pottery. You can even try your hand at it if any of the wheels are free! And it doesn't even cost much.
