Have visited Mckees 3 times now....what a good find.Very good food at a reasonable price.Nice little "extras" thrown make this a pleasant and reasonable place to eat.Maybe they need to look at the bread(boring) and the way the menu is written as it confusing!!The bar area is a little messy but don't let any of my comments stop you paying a visit to Mckees as it will be well worth it I'm sure.

Home cooked feel with a very professional content and presentation. The restaurant is always full and packed breakfast and lunch are provided for those with early starts and long days

I was amazed when presented the bill for our evening. A two course meal for two people and three rounds of drinks (including cocktails) £47. The food is fabulous, cooked fresh to order, served promptly on hot plates by friendly staff from a varied menu.

Had Sunday lunch at Haigs. Nicely cooked and served by friendly and efficient staff. Excellent value for three courses, including coffee. Reasonable choice for all courses. Complimentary 'Amuse Bouche' served (small soup and small salad/salsa for person having soup as starter).

Only negative thing was the bread - looked and tasted like the 'half-baked' rolls that are just put in the oven to 'finish them off'.

So much better than homogenous chains.
