“Comfortable stay”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Great place to spend the night. The owners made us feel very welcome. Room was modest but very clean and had all the comfort you could need. Wifi was available near the office and in the rancho hammock area in the yard. Breakfast delivered on the patio was great, large proportions and lots of fresh fruit. They also supplied us with a map and directions for a great hike to 3 waterfalls. If we stayed longer could have choices for more hikes. Beautiful.

This is a very nice, unpretentious place with several amenities that pleased us: coffee maker in the room (with local coffee), Cable TV (somewhat superfluous given the natural setting), AC (definitely superfluous in early March, when we were there) and overall nice, clean room. A wi-fi connection would have great. But what we liked the most was the gorgeous view from the private porch on the mountains. You open the French doors, you sit outside and you sip your coffee looking at the changing weather. Now talk about relaxing! Nice breakfast too! Now, one of the definite highlights was seeing a couple of parrots hanging around in the nearby trees! Owner very friendly and yet, discreet and the coffee tour, lead by him, was informative and very pleasant. Highly enjoyable and recommendable!

Set on a little rise high above the river with the mountains dominating the view, this relatively new B&B is the place to be. There are loads of birds; woodpeckers, parrots and cuckoos. The rooms are well designed, light, airy with fabulous scenes visible from the verandah. The breakfasts served on the verandah were good but slightly variable. The staff were delightful and Celestino the owner engaging and full of knowledge of the area. This is not a touristy place but there are lots of opportunities for exploring, on horseback, on bikes or on foot. Virgin forest is not far away and the new road towards the Caribbean coast offers access to it. I hope that this does not result in its depletion.
I almost forgot to mention that in each room there is a little coffee machine with mini packs of local coffee - replenished every day - and oh what coffee.
There was both a/c and a tv in the room but why would you come up the mountain and need either of them. Life is just too short for tv when the world is outside. Oh and quite the best linen and towels we had in a month away from home.

We spent three relaxing and rejuvenating days in Santa Fe, Panama at this delightful and charming little Inn. It's hard not to like a place when the owner, Celestino, greets you in bare feet.
Rooms were simple and very, very clean. Delicious and seasonal fruit-dominated breakfasts were served on adjacent porches that afforded particularly beautiful views of the mountains. The Inn does a particularly good job of encouraging and enabling guests to visit Santa Fe and other communities throughout the countryside. We visited an organic farm - ****- and Celestino gladly recommended a number of good hikes and gladly shuttled us to trail heads and dropping off points. Our only suggestion: cotton sheets would make a nice improvement.

We really enjoyed our stay, and relaxed after an exhausting tour through Central America. The mountain location was refreshing, and the couple who operate Coffee Mountain Inn were excellent hosts. Their knowledge of the local community and environment was so interesting! They were accessible, and opened our eyes to the world of Panama in ways that one does not often find at hotels. They have deep ties to the local community and are dedicated to ecotourism and are firmly located within the local community. They were delicate hosts, and provided us with attention and information on our tour and when we had questions, yet we also felt like we were in our own private haven, as well. I can only recommend this hotel, and it will remain a highlight of our trip through Central America!

This is a small family-owned hotel. The rooms were immaculate!!! I loved the white linens, including the fluffy towels. We had a small terrace, where we were served a wonderful breakfast each morning. The views from the terrace were gorgeous, especially at sunrise. There were several english speaking TV channels to choose from. You could walk to the village and restaurants. There is no wifi available, and this is the only negative.

Linda, I am in agreement with you about the sunrises! I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time with us. I certainly enjoyed looking at the lovely pictures you took. Getting Wi-Fi is on the top of our list - thanks for the comment.
