Set on a little rise high above the river with the mountains dominating the view, this relatively new B&B is the place to be. There are loads of birds; woodpeckers, parrots and cuckoos. The rooms are well designed, light, airy with fabulous scenes visible from the verandah. The breakfasts served on the verandah were good but slightly variable. The staff were delightful and Celestino the owner engaging and full of knowledge of the area. This is not a touristy place but there are lots of opportunities for exploring, on horseback, on bikes or on foot. Virgin forest is not far away and the new road towards the Caribbean coast offers access to it. I hope that this does not result in its depletion.
I almost forgot to mention that in each room there is a little coffee machine with mini packs of local coffee - replenished every day - and oh what coffee.
There was both a/c and a tv in the room but why would you come up the mountain and need either of them. Life is just too short for tv when the world is outside. Oh and quite the best linen and towels we had in a month away from home.
