Let me tell you the bad things. This is not located in the best location possible in Hospet. I wish this hotel was right next to Hampi. Thats about the only negative thing that comes to my mind. Considering the price you pay for it and the fact that you are in one of the poorest parts of India (barring the mining mafia), everything else is perfect. Believe me when I say this. Dont even think about that RO. Thats just a snazzy building where the service makes you cry. I have written 17 reviews here and traveled across every part of India. Barring close competition of my stays in Kozhikode and Bhutan, nothing comes close to this place. Best wishes to Mr. Maruthi here for making sure we had a great time.

Unfortunately my stay at malligi was restricted to one night only, having breezed through the check-in late evening, i ordered dinner in the room itself. The hotel has a couple of restaurants and a bar as well, in room service the range spans across indian, chinese and continental. Playing it safe i ordered Indian starters namely egg burji and chicken 65 and had a paneer butter masala with naan later.
The service was very good and quick and food was not bad either.
The room is spacious enough, but was disappointed to see the old box style TV while the world has moved on to flat screen TVs. The bathroom was neat and clean and so was the room and rest of the hotel.
Even though the hotel is located in a narrow lane, the interior is quite nice. Big and well laid out, it has a decent garden and a large fountain in the centre.
The breakfast was at their restaurant across the lobby entrance, and it had a good design and layout. The fairly impressive breakfast spread was south indian centric, but had lots of options and taste was good too.
Only thing, a couple of dishes in the dinner as well as breakfast had their taste ruined by the copious amount of salt added by the chefs and they really need to be more careful in this department.
I would have given this hotel a 5 star rating, but felt the attention to small details is what it lacked here. Small little improvements which would take it one notch higher and i would love to see that. Still, the overall value for money component is fantastic.
Not to mention it's just a 15 mins drive to Hampi if that's what brings you here.

I stayed in Hotel Malligi from 9th to 11th August 2013 on my way to explore Hapmi. It was a really pleasant experience. Staffs are professional and courteous. Rooms are very neat and clean and centrally airconditioned. Housekeeping was very good. Complementary buffet breakfast was very good with choice of Indian and continental dishes. Foods were excellent in Temptation. Juice and other shakes were very good in Blue Mist. Definitely you will feel good there.

We stayed in Malligi for 2 nights and our stay was very pleasant. The buffet breakfast was good with options of both Indian and Continental. We had dinner on both nights in the open air restaurant and the food was very tasty. While checking out the Receptionist offered to give us a room free of cost in the evening for half an hour in case we wanted to freshen up before leaving. All in all I found the staff very helpful and the hotel really good.

Room Tip: Even in the rainy season Hospet tends to be really hot in the noons. After a tiring day out in Hampi...

We stayed for 2 nights on our visit to Hampi. The room we stayed was spacious, the housekeeping staff was prompt in cleaning and made our stay comfortable. Quick and efficient room service. The room (standard) had a small refrigerator, kettle and ample storage space. The breakfast (complimentary) at Temptations was awesome; so was the dining experience in Blue Mist. We also utilized the services of the cab available at the Hotel; felt it was overpriced; but given the tourist season guess it was standard.

We stayed in Hotel Malligi for couple of days. The hotel was really full due to Aug 15th weekend. Our suite was quite comfortable and everything was in place by the time we checked in. All the little things that we mentioned (e.g. extra bed) were taken care of. The biggest advantage of staying in this hotel is its food. They have great complimentary breakfast - which includes dosas made to order. They serve some really good pizzas, sandwiches, ice creams, shakes etc. The food is really cheap too. Dinner for a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids) cost us only 660 INR. Travel desk in the hotel arranged the car for us and the drivers were very reliable. II would highly recommend this hotel looking to relax and yet get great comfort in a relatively small place like Hospet.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with kids, make sure you book a suite. Its more comfortable

It was a pleasant surprise to find such a good hotel in Hospet. It was calm and quiet inside, clean and hygiene, good food and overall a satisfying experience. Located very close to Hampi and Thungabhadra dam, its very convenient to people traveling to Hampi. Swimming pool offers some fun for children. Highly recommend for people visiting Hampi.
