We had a fantastic evening at La Ermita from walking in the place had a buzz, we spotted the food cabinet and our mouths started to drool. Our waitress was great she explained each one, as we said we'll have one of those and one of those and one of those, you get the picture it all looked amazing. We ate some really tasty food, drank some good white Lanzrote wine and then went back for seconds. We couldn't quite finish all, such good food and lots of it . With 3 bottles of wine and we lost count of the number of plates we had it was 90 euros for 4 of us, very good value.

There is a wide selection of delicious tapas and a menu of regional dishes, You can choose the tapas from the bar, or else order from the menu. A very popular place for locals and tourists alike.
They also have very good wine by the glass and all at very reasonable prices. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Based on the reviews we read we expected a genuine local tapas bar. Which it was. We enjoyed the atmosphere with the locals a lot. As to the food: we were invited to come to the bar and pick the tapas that were already there. That didn't make for a tasty and freshly cooked product. So on that side we said: the experience is ok but we will not return.

Went as a family on the last day of our trip to Lanzarote and even though we had some great meals in Puerta Del Carmen this tapas bar was by far the best. We went in, got seated and the waitress came over and said we do not have an English menu - which was great! We said we will give you x amount of money - feed us. After about 10 courses we said just one more, then another, then puddings. It was great to be in a place that the locals enjoy and do not turn their nose up at tourists. Definately worth the 'drive' for 5 minutes out into Tias.

This was our 2nd visit to La Ermita and it's another world away from the tourist strip of PDC that we left behind on the 9 euro taxi ride into the 'hills' of Tias. Its a smashing,authentic,geniune-article tapas restaurant full of locals and their families even on the Monday evening that we were there. There's no menu or wine list, just fantastic food under glass panels on the bar - you simply discuss your choices with the helpful waiters (we both agreed that we had 'poco' of each others' languages - mine more 'poco' than his to be fair),do a fair bit of pointing, try not to over-order and wait with a marvellous bottle of local wine (from Tias itself !!) until the dishes are prepared and brought over.I can't or won't specify what we liked best as everything was mouth-wateringly good.Don't be put off by a lack of Spanish - you'll get by,and even if you find yourselves the only tourists you'll really enjoy the busy, noisy atmosphere. It really is worth the slight effort & cost in getting there, and gives you a glimpse of the 'other' side of Lanzarote away from the masses along the prom back in PDC.Go to La Ermita, its great.Make make sure you book beforehand though !
