My duck 'two ways' (confit leg and breast) was superb while the pavlova and strawberry ice cream was delicious.

If anything, even better than my previous visit.

The Marine Hotel is the place where the locals go. It's about eating well with friends. It's not formal but the food is truly excellent, very fresh, with a wide choice & generous portions. The tables are spaced well, so you're not over-powered by other diners. Service can be slow if they're very busy but usually excellent. Easy parking.

We chose from a $20 lunch menu which included a main course and a glass of wine. Value good.

There was also a seniors menu for $15, and an a la carte menu.

Service a bit slow and not over friendly. Plenty of room between tables.

Free parking onsite.

Our meal in this nicely renovated pub was splendid.

The service was good, the ambience fine and most importantly the quality of the food seemed excellent. It's not super-cheap, but considering that it is Melbourne's bayside, it still represented reasonable (though not outstanding) value for money.
