The Steaks were good but not worth the prices they are charging, the staff need to slow down and smile beacuse we are there to relax not be rushed.
The chicken main on the menu may want to be reviewed as it was marked as a gluten free dish and had couscous as a side, i asked the waitress was it gluten free as traditionally made from 100% wheat she had no idea!

Went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration dinner & everyone was pleased with their food. Steaks were done exactly as ordered & those who had the chicken were delighted with their meal. Outside the restaurant is not very impressive, but the interior is designed in African decor, wait staff were African or South African & very efficient & polite! A very enjoyable evening!

We visited Hippo Creek to celebrate our wedding anniversary with some friends. The atmosphere was good and the furnishings were appropriate and tasteful. There were a bunch if chairs in the entry and this made us feel like we were coming in the back door in a way. The menu was not very African - there was a crocodile dish but it was tiny for the price. There was smattering of biltong and buffalo and venison but generally the meals were steak. The tiger prawns, chicken and crocodile were very very dry. It was overall a fairly average meal. I don't think we will visit again.

From the moment you step inside the restaurant you feel the Southern African influence.

The waiters and waitresses are all cheerful and helpful. Some are lovely young ladies from Zimbabwe, others on a working holiday from France.

The menu is a little complicated with multiple choices of size, type, cooking methods, sauces and extras and the waitresses patiently explain the details to each customer.

A good wine list is provided at very reasonable prices.

The food was excellent. This time we tried the Australian Grain Fed Angus Beef Steaks. They were cooked exactly as ordered, generally about 30 to 40mm thick and the result just melted in our mouths.

The atmosphere was great, the restaurant full of a mixed pre Christmas crowd. It became quite noisy as the night progressed but everyone seemed to be having a great time and we left very satisfied all round.

We look forward to returning again soon.

Went there with my family to celebrate my wife's birthday. Service pretty average. Food was quite good though but really disappointed in the surroundings. A very noisy environment and visually unappealing. The feeling of the place compared to Hippo Creek at Hilarys is very poor. Open windows to the enclosed carpark and the noise of traffic does little to enhance an already cheap feeling surroundings.
