Punsisi Hotel in Dalhousie was one of the most expensive places we stayed at in Sri Lanka and we got a lot less than in other places where we paid half the price.
The hotel itself wasn't that bad if you don't mind a tired old building, past-it furniture and creaky stairs.
Personally I don't mind a bit of character.
Walking up the stairs to our room was good practice for Adam's Peak. Our room had a balcony from where we had a brilliant view of the Peak and of the town. The room was adequate and clean. We had been sold hot water but it really wasn't hot. A decent shower was something high on our important list after the hike and Punsisi Rest didn't deliver. With that I was very disappointed because it was something that we specified.
If you stay here try to avoid paying for dinner in the room price. We didn't have dinner but we saw it and it didn't look very appetising. There are a couple of reasonable restaurants next to the hotel.More
