My husband and I stayed here with friends this weekend and had a great time. Abergeldie is a lovely, Victorian-era bed and breakfast with pretty, spacious rooms set in the countryside about 15 minutes drive from Daylesford. Initially, we thought that staying 15 minutes out of town would be an annoyance however Smeaton is a tiny town set amongst gorgeous Victorian countryside with springs you can visit along the way. The town itself has a lot of history and we would have missed this if we hadn't stayed here.
Our hosts, Geoff and Jenny were warm and friendly and provided great service. Breakfast was included and you could choose from hot or cold breakfasts (or both!). A cute sun room with tea and coffee was also free to use, as was a sitting room with an open fireplace.
The rooms were very comfortable with great beds, clean and new bathrooms, robes, heating and electric blankets.
Overall, a great place to stay. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the Daylesford area but not in the busy town centre.
