A better start of the new year would not have been possible than the 4 nights we spent at the Pano Resort on Koh Maak! The location is great, at the end of the Ao Kao side of the Island, away from all the other resorts. But because the island is so small it is very easy to peddle on the rented bikes to the rest of the island through lush vegetation, or if you prefer rent a motorbike. First impression of the place is that it looks a bit old but also very authentic, made with all natural materials. The huts are big and the huge terraces are almost in the ocean with beautiful views and stunning sunsets. Prices very affordable from 500 baht ( only cold water) or 700 with warm water. The restaurant is realy nice and big part of the charm of this place is the enthusiasm and good service from Boy , Bo and their two cousins running the place. Feels like staying with good friends. Be aware that as well near the ferrypier on the mainland as well as the so called information point were you arrive at Koh Mak resort they have the tendency to say that most places are full and try to book you in more expensive resorts, So better call Boy to ask if there are rooms available,
