The hotel it self is very luxurious, up to that standards, contemporary design, excellent location in the heart of Dead Sea hotels area, .. but very far distance between the main building and swimming pools and the beach area, very bad service, the room was not ready, and after two hours of waiting, we got a dirty room.., coffee on the floor, used towels left in the closet from previous guests, some beer in the balcony, A/C is not working, .. and when we reported that, they were too late to respond till late evening, when we were moved to another room..., the breakfast wasn't that good, few choices to choose from.
Over all, it's not up to the levels of a 5-star hotel in terms of quality of service.

On arrival very unpleasant time booking in . As I had booked with booking .com excellent rates use them all the time . Otherwise apart from this time onwards service and facilities were amazing . The breakfast buffet was too much with probably the best selection of western foods that I 've ever eaten .This was included in booking .
The facial and massage was amazing and the facilities idydlic and modern with sophistication .
It would have been amazing too share it with my husband .

Room Tip: Houses are the best for couples nearest the beach . I went by myself after the Jordan 250 k event f...

In general when staying at a Kempinski property you expect to receive all that you are paying for which is generally significant. This was a very good property however the levels of service was vy poor indeed.

The check in was the worst experience that we have ever had, taking one and a half hours from check in to actually entering our room. no one knew what was going on. we even went for lunch and the waiter rang reception to find out where our key was but in the end no one was aware of anything. Check out was again poor but not as ad as the check in . Opening times for the restaurants was confusing as they differed from the times stated in the in room hotel directory. It was obvious that the breakfast business is very profitable for them as they will not open any other facility until breakfast is over at 11.30am. Otherwise the hotel itself was very good however we could not stay there again because of the service which for a five star hotel was not acceptable.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a family try to select a ground floor room.

Now where to start - when you arrive and at the hotel all you can think is wow, the door of your car/taxi is opened for you and you can then forget about cases etc. You arrive at reception and are greeted by a hostess with a cold towel and a lovely cold drink after being in a car for a while its appreciated. Check in is a bit on the slow side but that's ok. We were in the main hotel and I can't agree with the person who wrote that the rooms weren't great (now maybe the rooms down at the pools are better but, we didn't see them so we can't comment, but our room was absolutely fantastic). The hotel boasting tree-lined outdoor pools overlooking the waters of the Dead Sea, and it does - the views from the rooms are amazing. The hotel has a private stretch of beach, but all the hotels do and a urn at the top of the steps offering sea mud which you coat your body in and let it dry before you go into the Dead sea and its amazing. There is a spa that my boyfriend said was totally amazing I didn't see it as I was soooo sick, but there is no way you could afford to take any of the treatments - they are Mayfair/Knightbridge prices or even more which is just totally stupid. We know the staff don't get paid silly prices so why charge silly prices which means that the spa is totally under used. Its vast and empty. The only thing that lets the hotel down is the dining room - we decided to go for half board - maybe not the best of ideas - but you are out in the middle of nothing and the only thing around is 5* hotels with stupid prices for food. The Thai restaurant wasn't open all the time, the italian was but the main restaurant was. The prices were just silly though - it was more expensive than being at home and I know it was a 5* but... it was Jordan out of season... I found they took the easy way out and did a buffet style, which looked totally amazing - which is fine but when you pay that amout of money for a hotel you want to be served and have hot food. I felt really sorry for the restaurant manger who seemed to not be able to control the staff (him not being Jordanian and the staff were). I ended up getting our own tea/coffee in the morning as the staff were just standing around chatting and you couldn't get their attention but when the manager came in it was all quickly serve people. Maybe it was because we went to dinner a bit later (8 ish) that we found the food cold, and something simple like having hot plates was not available. Like most arab desserts they looked amazing but the cakes are never sweet enough.

All the rooms in the hotel and suites come with a balcony with sea views. They are carved in natural stone complemented by contemporary interiors. I would go back but this time maybe be more careful with what I eat - only eat cook and take food that you peel....

Room Tip: I think all the rooms in the hotel have a sea view - some with larger balconys than others - but hug...

Since my last visit, the prices became higher and not affordable for many Kempinski lovers, but still worth it. The main building is closed now because it is low season and they moved everything to the village ASHTAR at the same prices of reservation. They are preparing for christmas with a very beautiful decoration. Many thanks to Mr. Tarteer for his great welcoming, he is a great asset that the hotel managers should praise. The Spa is just wonderful !!!! Wireless Internet should be available in all rooms, since most of visitors have wireless devices nowadays.

Room Tip: Upper rooms with balconies are the best.
