When we lived in Jordan we visited the movenpick dead sea resort quite a few times. I was a;ways slightly disappointed with the rooms, a didn't like the design, i feel the hotel would suit something more 'classy'. However we always enjoyed our stay. Once i used the zara spa and had a treatment which was very nice. I still remember the view from the swimming pool overlooking the dead sea, amazing! Like anywhere in Jordan you really feel like you are being looked after and this is the case for this hotel too. There are lots of different places to eat. We had young children with us and felt comfortable taking them out with us. There is a children's area where they can be looked after if you choice to have some alone time. Be warned it can be quite a walk down to the dead sea. You can ask to have a buggy ride to get down most of the way, but sometimes we never managed to spot anyone to ask, there was a phone at the bottom but didn't seem to work. Down on the dead sea it feels very relaxing. There is a large pot of mud that you can cover yourself in, leave to dry, shower off then make your way into the sea, what an amazing experience floating like that! There were always staff at the entrance of the sea to help you in as sometimes it can be slippery or sharp on your feet on the rocks from the salt crystals. Best to take some sea shoes. The breakfast was really nice, buffet style and the service was really good. All in all a very nice place to stay and experience.

Dear Online Customer,

Thank you for your constructive feedback on Tripadvisor.

Our resort has been designed as an Arabic village style which fits perfectly into the Jordanian & Dead Sea environment. We thank you as well for your positive feedback on our Zara, who was rewarded the best spa destination in 2009 by a famous British magazine publisher.

We look forward welcoming you to our resort.

Although I was at the MOvenpick only for a conference and thus as a business traveller I had a great time there: excellent food, great rooms, etc., all what you can expect from a Movenpick hotel. Also, I went to the spa (20JD for hotel guests) which as truly excellent!

The downsides:
- the staff at the reception only spoke a very poor English and couldnt answer the simplest questions like "do you have a US or UK plug in the rooms?"
- the internet in the room was slow and costly (12 JD a day) this is a rip-off for a luxury hotel where I pay hundres of dollars per night and totally inconvenient for business travellers
- like all resports, this hotel creates an artificial mocrocosm for wealthy mass tourists that has NOTHING to do with real life in Jordan

The Movenpick Hotel is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. With the 3 infinity pools, the spectacular beach, the lovely bar with the view of the sea and the delicious food, it would be hard to find better. Didn't use the spa but it looked wonderful.

When we were there however the farmers spread their fields with chicken fertilizer. Whoa...the flies were unbelievable, but the positive side to this is they didn't bite.

Go...you'll love it.

What can I say, since stepping into the reception my family and I were in awe. The place is simply amazing, it is something out of a fairytale! The resort is quite large and they have buggys to take you around (complimentary service - just call and they will be at your room). The layout of the resort reminds me of arabian nights, there are footpaths with overhanging trees and plants everywhere and at night the lighting gives it a very romantic theme. There are also a number of swimming pools and jacuzzi's for each apartment complex. The deadsea was mindblowing, the fact that you can float in the water so easily is pretty amazing coming from someone who can't swim (I know I know lol). We would definately recommend this place and are thinking of visiting again in the future.

What can I say, after a long sightseeing tour of Jordan, this was a fabulous end to our holiday. We stayed in a deluxe village room which was beautifuly decorated. The check in was quick, the staff were super friendly and helpful.

The hotel and it's grounds are beautifuly designed and the direct access to the dead sea (with free mud in a pot right next to it) was brilliant. Lifeguards are on hand to rinse your face with fresh water incase you get the salty stuff in your eyes. And there's plenty of comfortable beds on the man made beach and around the pool to relax afterwards.

Cocktails were excellent and the breakfast selection was sensational.

If there was one thing I would say, is that I couldn't get a spa treatment for love nor money because the whole thing was fully booked, and the prices were very expensive.

Also, we ate at Le Grill restaurant and the steak was excellent, but for the price, they shoudl really give you side vegetables for free.

That's it, I will go back again if I'm ever in Jordan
