The Marriott at the Dead Sea in Jordan is a great hotel, we took two rooms for a family of 5 and we had a very good time for the 3 nights we stayed here during our road trip across Jordan.

Hotel facilities are very good, excellent food and services across the hotel, very green and interesting settings, very good kids pool and one nice water slide which my eight year old loved. Kids room is available but it is mostly oriented to video-games and you cannot leave small kids. Tucked away there is also an excellent kids yard with good quality slides, etc.

Infinity pool and spa are very good, actually they are excellent and only for over 18 year old, so harder to use if you are with kids, but I understand why they do it and the rest of the territory is so inviting that this is not an issue.

Service was excellent all across the hotel, valet parking for free, check-in, free wi-fi in most public locations, service at the restaurants and bars was impeccable. The Italian Restaurant was our favorite.

Overall an excellent luxury hotel with the right facilities for a couple on honeymoon or for the family with kids. Location is excellent if you also plan to do a few side trips to the Baptism site, Mt. Nebo, Madaba, the Mudjib Reserve or the Ma'in thermal waters.

Not a big issue, but the only slight problem we had at check-in was that we had reserved two non-smoking rooms and when we arrived there were none with connecting rooms available, we took the smoking rooms which were excellent anyway, but some people might be bothered.

I do have one recommendation for the Hotel Management:
Evenings of live Music and Belly Dancer in the open terraces are fantastic, with good service, excellent Shisha/Kalean/waterpipe and drinks but, sometimes, in such a great location silence is also good. I think you should include some intervals in the show, between the belly dancer and the singers, of soft quite music to enjoy.

Room Tip: Not sure there is anything specific, the rooms across the Hotel seemed quite similar and not sure th...

We finished our Jordan trip here. This Marriott was fantastic. The rooms, lobby, pools ,spa etc were excellent. We only stayed a night and wish we could have stayed longer as it was very relaxing.Dinner in the Italian restaurant was very good.We were looked after by Emillion who could not have enough for us.We highly recommend him as his service/attention was outstanding.

As a Marriott reward member, I finally chose Marriott instead of Movenpick as my friend told me about excellent stay at Movenpick. My decision proved right when I and my wife stayed three nights in May.
Various pools, Nice dead sea experience, helpful staff, nice food and all others helped us enjoying our stay. We will come back again.

Room Tip: Pool side room better.

At check-in was requested to read & sign a paper to confirm that I understood check out was at noon & charges would be applied if this was breached - a first for me.
Got to the room & it was not clean enough for a 5* hotel. Piece of what looked like nasal discharge on the wall above desk. Went down to reception - they changed my rm to a Dead Sea View, which was nice - but still the room was not that clean. Bed was comfy though.
Dinner - oh there is only sparkling or still ... no free filtered water .... but you can have free hot water. WHAT?????
200+ rooms - you better get to b/fast early as by 9am the place is heaving with people and lots of happy kids. Not a place for honeymooners.
There's also a weird system for use of the spa.
Only thing going for this place is the staff - seems like the agency getting them workers from the Philippines is doing a GREAT job.
Hotel is dire need of a renovation. Bathrm sink cracked.... Yeah next time I'll try another hotel.
I was happy to leave & did not breach the check out time.

This might just be the best hotels we ever have stayed in. Lots of pools space. Several restaurants from medium to high. Nice rooms and clean, clean.Nothing within walking distance except the Dead Sea.

Room Tip: Only drawback is that there is nothing much nearby.

Giving a mark to this hotel has been quite difficult.

If you are looking for a resort type of hotel, children-friendly with several swimming pools, good animation in the evening (especially during the week-end), this is the place for you
The staff is really nice and professional, the views on the dead sea splendid and the breakfast great.

If, on contrary, you are looking for a place to relax after an intensive week of visits of Jordan, not sure this is the place to be.
As far as we were concerned, we arrived at the Marriott in the late afternoon after an early morning wake-up due to a hot air balloon in the Wadi Rum.
We stayed in a Duplex suite which was nice, as there is a living room downstairs and two rooms upstairs with their dedicated bathrooms.
The issue is that, as the room was just upstairs one of the bar, the music was so loud that it was not possible for our two kids to sleep at 11 pm despite their 5 am wake-up. The music stopped at the bar around 11.30 pm but unfortunately there was a private event, still within the Marriott grounds, that still prevented us to sleep.
What made me the most angry is that despite our call to the front desk on Saturday night and the mention when checking out that the noise partly ruined our experience, we had not received a single excuse from the hotel management. I think it would have been motivated.

In brief, if you are looking for a very good resort, this is your place, if you are looking for a place where you can sleep, especially during the week-end, I'm afraid this is not.
