“Beautiful Hotel surrounded by Ascetic Beauty itself”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2011

I did not stay in the hotel itself, so I can't comment on the rooms. Rather, I came here on a day trip from Amman to visit the Dead Sea and relax.

Marriott offered an outstanding way to enjoy the Dead Sea for the day, as well as several very nice swimming pools, a good bar, and excellent food. It is worth the visit, for a stay (I'm guessing, but the hotel grounds were very nice - I'm assuming this relates to the rooms too), or for a day trip.

I was pleased and plan to visit here again, but to stay a few days the next time through.

An excellent place to relax, with a selection of pools including one which is adults only. There is easy access to the Dead Sea and the mud pots - so you can take the all essential photo. There is also a small beach area if you prefer to dip in the sea rather than the pools. There are good shower and changing facilities, which means you can enjoy the pools up until the last minute even if you don't have a late checkout time and as the resort is less than an hour from the airport you can make the most of your last day in Jordan.

The rooms are a good size and have all the facilities you expect of a 5* hotel. You have to pay for internet in your room, but it is free in the lobby area and around the pool, which is great.

We took advantage of the "happy hour" in the bar - as alcohol in Jordan is very expensive otherwise. And then ate in the steak restaurant, it was the best steak I have ever had and the service was top notch. Breakfast was excellent with a massive selection, something to please everyone.

Like other hotels on this strip it is busy on a Friday and Saturday, as the day trippers come over from Amman - so get to the pool early.

I have stayed at the Dead Sea many times over the past decade. I used to stay on the Israel side of the Dead Sea but was told by another traveler I met in the airport to stay on the Jordan side. I am sure glad I listened. The hotels on the Jordan side are cheaper and 5 star classy hotels compared to the Israel side. This hotel has everything. Really nice rooms, hallways, lobby, at least 5 pools, great beach to the Dead Sea, great food and a wonderful staff. Hard to beat this hotel for the money.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms face the pool areas and have wonderful views and balconies. Try to get one of the...

Me and my wife we're celebrating our 2nd anniversary @ Marriott Hotel Dead Sea. For us Marriott Hotel is one of our favorite hotel.... so I decided that, we need to go and have a great experience @ Marriott Hotel, in Jordan Valley Dead Sea Resort and Spa. from the arrival everything are organize, all the attendant are very hospitable. Our room are fantastic, its overlooking, and romantic too, specially @ night. The cleanliness its amazing, from the mirror of the elevator, to the entire facilities. The food are EXCELLENT specially in JO's steak house restaurant its a perfect evening for us, cuz not only the foods and also the service, for us its really "WOW" we will never forget the cute girl and have a sweet smile in the JO's steak house restaurant, the name of that girl is Chel, she is absolutely EXCELLENT server. She made our dinner complete, its one of our memorable experience as a dinners, hope all the server like her. For us the Marriott hotel, in Jordan Valley is highly recommended. We're hoping that we will come back soon.

This hotel is superbly designed and landscaped, with three levels of pools, fountains and Jacuzzis cascading down to the beach. The best rooms (well worth the 10JD per night supplement) have balconies overlooking this area, with the added bonus of spectacular sunsets over the Dead Sea and Israeli mountains beyond. They have all the usual five-star facilities, plus some which you don’t often get in Jordan – e.g. an iron plus board, coffee/tea-making facilities, free bottled water, a well-stocked mini-bar, a bath and bidet as well as shower, and a flat-screen TV with a good range of channels but, surprisingly, no BBC World.

The public areas are spacious and opulent – all is marble and polished wood. The staff are the best we encountered in Jordan – well-trained, courteous, efficient and anxious to please. The restaurant buffet has a cycle of different themes throughout the week. Predictably, the Middle Eastern one was excellent – the Italian one only average. The open air bar by the beach has a nice atmosphere and features entertainment on most evenings (if belly-dancing is your thing). There is a good spa, but prices are high, even by European standards. A cheaper alternative is to cover yourself in mud, before or after your Dead Sea ‘float’.

There are several five-star hotels on this stretch of coast (and not much else – no shops, restaurants or markets) and choosing between them is not easy. All we can say is that the Marriott will meet your highest expectations – and it is by no means the most expensive option around here.

According to one of my friends the fourniture and style was old, but I would say classic, since this was one of the first hotels in the sourroundings. I had a huge room with a terrace overlooking the pools, and one at the end of the corrdor with a breathtaking view over the dead sea. at might I could see Jerusalem lights. several pools with jacuzzi on different levels down to the dead sea. private acces and swimming area in the dead sea (swimming there it is something to try in a lifetime).
Large choice of restaurants, but I had only a quick break at the sports pub, since I had business dinners with catering every night. the breakfast was huge and delicious, served outside. Cleaning not perfect though.
Need to come back with my wife...

We only visited the hotel for a day trip and did not stay in rooms, however paid 40 JD to spend the day using their facilities which include 3 pools and their strip of beach. The beach area is split into 2: one for swimming and the other for mud application.

Overall we were very happy with the pool and sea facilities. The buffet was also extremely good (at 26 JD) and I would say of a 5* international standard. Although there were no stations for chef to prepare food for you (such as a pasta or fish station), the quality and variety of the food was extremely good.

From these perspectives, this is one of the best Marriotts I have stayed at worldwide.
