We are so grateful to the owners for welcoming us into their beautiful property. A large and solid Normandy farmhouse in a rural setting; beautifully furnished in a classic French style. Large kitchen and drawing room with conservatory that flows into the walled garden. Lovely shady trees to sit under and great touches like teak garden furniture, deck chairs, decent kitchen equipment, extra fridge and useful scullery.
The owners were welcoming and very helpful - right next door but also very discrete.
While in a tranquil setting the property is 5 mins from the lovely village and beach of Saint-Pair-sur-Mer with bakery, butchers, fish monger, great weekly market (Thursdays) and small super market; 5 mins from huge E Leclerc; and 10 mins from Granville centre. Granville itself is historic and lively; great to wonder around and needless to say, amazing seafood, especially around the port.
Further afield, the coast is one long sandy beach for miles north and south of the town with classic Normandy small fields, woods and farmhouse county-side inland.
We loved it.
Calm environment, extremely close to the sea and only minutes by car to convenient shopping or Granville. Enclosed good sized garden made for safe outside play for our 4-year-old. Comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended.
We stayed stayed at this beautiful Gite with my parents, husband and two boys aged 5 and 6. The house had everything we needed and more! The main bedroom was spacious and had a large en suite very modern bathroom. The other bedrooms were perfect for our requirements too. There were toys for the boys in one room that kept them amused at times and the garden was perfect for them to run around in. There was a tv and DVD player too for moments we needed to amuse the boys whilst packing for the day ahead. The conservatory area was our base in the evening to read and drink wine with comfy sofas to relax on in the lounge area. There was also a downstairs toilet and a garage area with an extra fridge and freezer which helped keep all the extra food and drink for the week.
Delphine and her husband were welcoming, particularly with our boys being very lively, they put us at ease around the inevitable noise they would make. Any issues they assisted with but although they lived next door (next door but one - the adjoining part of the building was unoccupied) we were not aware of them at all.
We used the Gite as a base for us to explore the local area and further afield. You could walk to the nearest beach but for us it would be too far. We found that the beach in Jullouville (10 min drive) was perfect for us. Mostly sandy with small waves allowed us to relax when the boys played in the sea.
A fantastic holiday in a beautiful Gite in a beautiful
Part of Normandy. Thank you to Delphine and her husband for such a lovely place to stay! (The bottle of local Cider they gave us was delicious too!)
We visited this beautiful property to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. We were an extended family of six. Two grandparents and a family of four including two children. The house is well situated near to beaches and town, supermarket and shops. The children loved the garden and the toys, we loved the conservatory and spacious accommodation. The house exceeded our expectations.
What a wonderful find, a holiday home that has everything, the owners were so welcoming.
The house and surrounding area was so peaceful, but only a five minute drive to the hypermarket and ten minutes to some wonderful beaches.
