Normal room for an Ibis, with a beautiful view on the marina. Very rich breakfast buffet. Amazing restaurant. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, always smiling. Location is tip-top, within 2 minutes walking distance from the downtown area. Parking is easy thanks to the huge city car park right on the hotel's doorstep. We have been going there once a year for 5 years and will return many times.
We took the advice of other reviewers and booked a waterfront room. It is one of the best located Ibis hotels that we have stayed in. It was an overnight stop on our journey from Calais to Brittany and proved to be a winner. The room was typical Ibis. Clean comfortable and very basic. We had coffee and drinks on the terrace overlooking the marina and the food in the restaurant was a cut above the average Ibis fare (but there are better places nearby if you can be bothered after a day travelling!) A walk round the historic old town of Granville is just minutes away and is well worth it. We would certainly stay here again but only for a one night stopover.
Breakfast very poor value.
Staff do not speak English.
Nightly rate is quite expensive.
Our bedroom door was left open for about 2 hours. I'm surprised that nothing was taken.
Manager never around when you need him.
Nice hotel in cracking location. The restuarant was shut on Sunday but there are good restuarants at the end of the road
Stayed one night here just a few days ago with my wife and two children in a duplex suite. I have to say its almost perfect. The large room with a good size double bed and stairs leading to the twin bed. The bathroom clean and ok. The let down was no tea/coffee in rooms, but one can get over this. The hotel is perfect to park the car and walk the town, there is loads of interest for all. The light house a nice walk up the road, towards the lighthouse and the many German built gun turrets. The castle worth spending time .The town has a very well know exresident his house and grounds are lovely and well worth some time. His name is Christin Dior lovely fashions, smells and a lovely well worth visit to a museum. Loads of shops in the town.
Now back to our hotel for to refresh before dinner, The hotel has a nice restuarants, but felt the prices were a bit steep. Just a few minutes walk from hotel is 4 really good restuarants, with better prices than the hotel. They offer a very good choice and welcome children. We loved our meal great fun and very good food, a few drinks and no worries about driving home.
Staff at hotel seemed ok we had very little to do with them except the breakfast lady, she was curtious, got on with her job. Check out came to fast paid our bill and drove the short journey to Cherbourge. Yes we will be back and we enjoyed our stay at the Ibis in Granville.
