“Superb Hotel”
Reviewed October 25, 2009

We stayed at the Alba Queen Hotel for 10 nights from the 12th-22nd October 2009. Our whole stay was outstanding. The hotel has very very high standards of cleanliness, wherever we walked we saw people with buckets and mops, even on the beach.

The food in the restaurant was very good, with huge choice. We found we were better to go to dinner after 8pm after the 7pm rush had died off a bit, the food seemed to be constantly being refreshed so going later was no problem. The pool and beach bars serve food all day, which is a refreshing change from the main restaurant.

The spa, turkish bath and massages were truly wonderful. Anyone that goes to Turkey should have a turkish bath in their first 48hrs, it certainly prolongs one's tan.

The swimming pool is massive and very refreshing. They do play music around the pool but the daily times seemed to vary. We had a room with a view of the pool and the music was no problem for us. However if you like peace I'd ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel, however be warned as the 'iman calls for prayer' 4 times a day from the local mosque, which is almost opposite the hotel. Our friend stayed on this side of the hotel but he didn't have a problem with it. The animation team work very hard and make a huge effort to entertain guests and they do it very successfully. The evening entertainment was 'tongue in cheek' and quite light hearted. The beach area is enormous with loads of sunbeds. We had absolutely no problems getting sunbeds on the beach or by the pool, but it was the end of the season and still 30 degrees.

The dolmus bus bus to Side and Manavgat stops right outside the hotel and is about a 15minute journey away. The dolmus is great fun and you see all sorts getting on and off.

There are three Alba hotels in Colakli. The Resort is aimed at Families with young children, the Queen is aimed at mid range children and the Royal has no children. From the people we spoke to all three hotels are of very high standards of service and cleanliness, all with an excellent choice of food and restaurants.

Fab hotel def worth 5* for turkey standards, very clean, food fab, free sunbeds on beach a bonus, sea was very warm & clear, great watersports, shops & bars outside the hotel, everything was sold in euro's though as ther were alot of germans/russians at this resort & hotel, the all inclusive bar 24hrs was fab too!!! The resort of side was a dolmus ride away (just flagg one down outside hotel) about 3lire each way, plenty of shops in side if you like to barter alot, this is the place to shop!!!
The locals are very friendly some speak english & some very little, but it was'nt a problem, I would def go back to the Alba Queen or Alba Royal which is next door & for adults only ( I work for thomascook & will def sell this resort & hotel to people)! ThankYou for a fab stay!!!

Went to Alba Queen in September 2009. was so impressed when we arrived at 4.50am after a long flight by the surrondings and the friendynesss of the hotle reception. we were given ice lollies which were very refreshing as it was so hot. Rooms were large and airy Towels changed every day and mini bar filled up at no extra cost. The poolside during the day was great plenty going on from football, pool games, water areobic, all done by the animation team who very very friendly especially Amy and Selda. The beach is a short walk away through the beach bar which served lovely food . plenty of sunbeds available around pool and beach.
The food in hotel was lovely plenty of choice for everyone and very friendlt waiters who would get anything for you.ONly thing lacking was the nightime entertainment.

We stayed at the Alba Queen from 12/9 - 19/9. Modern hotel with good facilities. Very clean and spacious, with comfy seating areas and well designed bedrooms. Beware if you ask for a double bed, as the sheets provided come as two singles draped across widthways - we didn't realise and there was a lot of confusion in the middle of the first night! Plenty of food choice but we felt there should be a designed dining room for those with babies and toddlers. Food temperatures weren't always good with some dishes being lukewarm - we like ours hot! Service varied between waiters. Soup was excellent. Delicious ice creams served between 3-4pm daily in the Pool Bar. As this was not the height of the season there was no problem finding sunbeds; the Hotel has a rule that no towels are to be left on beds before 8.00am, so if the couple with the green towels who descended on the pool at 7.15am every morning are reading this, please take note - you were being watched! Pool area was fine but there was a major problem with the music which starts at 10.00am and ends around 5.15pm. At times the level of noise was unbearable with thudding disco music blaring out from the loudspeakers- it made it very difficult to read or rest. It was quieter down the far end of the pool but the sun disappared from there mid afternoon. If you like loud music then fine but if, like us, you want to chill out for a week or two, this isn't the Hotel for you. Beach was clean but very hot and several people said they had had to come back to the Hotel because they couldn't stand the temperature and lack of air. Apart from the facilities in the Hotel there isn't much to do apart from visit the local shops which are quite persuasive in trying to get you to part with your money. Buy in Turkish Lira to get best value - Thomas Cook rep had best exchange rate. Visited SIde on the dolmus which made for a change from the on-site entertainment which was reasonable, but not outstanding. All in all we wouldn't come back to this Hotel because of the noise, although it was very nice not to have to worry about making meals for a week!

My boyfriend and I went to the alba queen for 2 weeks. Having read some of the reviews I was rather worried. However, I could not find anything to pick fault with and we had a brilliant time. The food was beautiful and there was so much choice (even for picky eaters), the staff were really nice. Some people in their reviews had moaned about the lack of english that the waiters spoke...(well why do they go on holiday to foreign countries???)All staff were really friendly especially the animation team.If anyone didnt understand what you was asking they would go and get someone who spoke more english. Everywhere was very clean and the maid service was really good. There was no big issue about getting sunbeds, we were always able to get them round the pool even when we got up at 10am. Would reccomend going to the turkish bath..very relaxing and its supposed to make your tan last longer so go at the beginning of the holiday. Would definatly reccomend it to people we have already looked at going again next year!!
