“Excellent food, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2010

This hotel is perfect for a relaxing beach resort style break. We found the location OK, not the most pretty part of the world as quite purpose built, but for a chill out holiday we were very happy with our choice. The food and drink were excellent, and the staff really made you feel welcome and gave great service. The hotel was built to an excellent standard, with nice well kept garden and plenty of facilities. The one major grumble was that the aircon was controlled centrally and switched off at 2am, and with night temperatures of 19 degrees it was too hot in the room. We wed this back but were told that because it was now the cool season (Oct - with daytime temps of 30 degrees) this was company policy. The clientele was quite old, and there were a lot of Germans staying - and yes we did see towels on sun beds but only from a minority! The only other minor grumble was the overzealous porter who insisted on carrying our cases (for a tip) and wanted to do our packing for us as we obviously overtipped him!

Just returned from another brilliant stay at this fab hotel. Thank you to all the staff for working so hard to make it such a positive experience. Met some lovely people, including Gary and Karen from Holland, Dusty and many many more. Looking forward to returning in July 2011.

What can I say, It has taken a week for me & the Missus to recover-No not in a bad way, but thanks to the Aging Reprobate Club!! You know who you Are! We look forward to meeting you all again, even the associate members!
The hotel was fantastic, the animation team even better, especially Hugo & Nikolai! The shows in the evening are terrific and the team are on the go all day long
We started with a party on the first night that finished as we booked out, if we weren't partying then we were playing darts, shooting or belly dancing.
The service was good on the whole, the waiters DO NOT pester for tips and can't do enough for you, thank you Kerim, Sebastian & Halil!
The food is varied and good, even the scrambled eggs at breakfast are properly made. Just don't expect english bacon!
would we go back? An unqualified YES to that one!!!

We stayed as a group of 12 from 2nd October for 7 nights and had a very good holiday. The hotel is immaculately maintained, the food is good and the majority of the staff work very hard to ensure that the guests enjoy their stay.

Our stay was only slightly marred by three issues;
Firstly, as has been mentioned previously, the air-con is switched off for long periods during the day and night, resulting in disturbed sleep and discomfort. Not a big deal, but frustrating for a hotel claiming 5 stars.
Secondly, the whole party suffered from insect bites. Initially we thought it was due to mosquitoes, but we eventually realised that we were being bitten mainly when we visited the evening entertainment area (the outdoor auditorium) and that the bites were mainly around everyone’s ankles. It was only then that we put two and two together and realised that we had been sitting near to where a stray cat was raising kittens and we were being bitten by fleas! Not pleasant at all. The record holder amongst our party had 22 bites in total!
Lastly, and most frustrating of all, was the attitude of SOME waiters. We initially believed that the blatant favouritism towards certain groups was due to the fact that we were British, as certain other nationalities appeared to be getting the best attention of the staff. As the week progressed, the service we received was 'patchy' and we realised that with certain waiters / barmen, when we didn't give an early tip, the service wasn't just poor, it was almost non-existent. Our party DID tip regularly, but the hotel must sort out this surly attitude with certain members of its staff. A good quality hotel should offer a good level of service as it's minimum standard and tips should be sought for good service NOT expected just for providing a regular level of service.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, despite the above issues, but the management must address certain issues if it to maintain its hard earned position in the tripadvisor league table. My personal view is that if the management continues to rest on its laurels, as the hotel gets older (it is only two years old at the moment) it will gradually slide down the ratings.
On a separate issue, as others have mentioned, the flights with Tomas Cook were awful - poor legroom, inedible food. To be honest, they are so poor that they are even starting to make Ryanair look decent!
By the way, the weather was fantastic for 5 of the seven days, reaching a maximum of 38 degrees just before a massive thunderstom that resulted in all the rooms on the ground floor being flooded at 11.30 pm!

Having just returned from the alba royal( 1st October) this being our second visit to the hotel we once again had a fantastic time. The staff made us feel very welcome and the service from all was excellent. The animation team were spot on and some of the shows were very professional. The hotel, pool area, gardens and beach were all spotlessly clean. The food in all restaurants was excellent and we were spoilt for choice my only criticism is the la carte restaurants are alittle bit samey however saying this the food is good in all three. My particular favourites was the royal pizza at the pool bar and the lemon chicken at the beach bar. Also would highly recommend an early cocktail at the ground floor hotel bar with Mustaff his effort at this time was always fantastic he would spend great time into making a special drink. My only other criticism is the thomas cook trips which are far to expensive it is much cheaper to go up the road and do it your self as we did with our boat trip( 15 euros rather than 42 pounds).

what a lovely hotel and staff are brilliant. sea was lovely and warm and clear. I have marked it down for sleep because the beds are very hard also the noise from adjacent hotel went on untill 12 midnight. the food is endless try all restaurants,do not forget beach restaurant it is lush.
downside is this hotel is sold through thomascook and their flights are awful,no room to move and i am only a size 12 and 5ft5in.
