Castello di Akyarlar
Ranked #14 of 14 Hotels in Akyarlar
Reviewed September 12, 2012

It was an amazing time and with it one of my best holidays.
I was there with two friends and we all enjoyed our habitation.
Akyarlar is a wonderful bay and is perfect for people who want relax. The sight is indescribable and the water is so clear.
Castello is a beautiful hotel with comfortable furniture. The rooms are really cleaned and cover up all needs. A small garden and a terrace provide extra possibilities for relaxing if you want to pass off the beach for a moment which is provided directly in front of the door.
I think I gained about two kilos in only one week which is possibly not avoidable with such a good food. =) We ate four times a day. The meals are traditional and really delicious.
The staff, and the director we got to know, too, were really friendly and courteous.

For me there is nothing to criticize and I really would recommend Castello di Akyarlar.

We love akyarlar and hence chosen this hotel.to be honest;the rooms are comfortable and clean but all the rest is awful!the unfortunate part is the owner does not care your feedback just as he did not respond to these reviews
1- we have been charged for omlette (10 YTL)the price did include breakfast and we have not been warned about this extra
2-extremely overpriced
3-the owner releases his dogs at night, very hostile.if you are lucky, you are not attacked.the owner does not care even if U say that U are afraid
4-when U check out, the owner sends a lady to the room to check if you have stealen something
İ âm suprised that he can still run this place with this approach!

This time we spent eight days between 20th and 29th of May 2012.

It was not our first time here in Castello di Akyarlar. We love to come here since 2006. We have always spent a great summer holiday here, because of relaxing in a beautiful seaside atmosphere, such as nice service and amazing food. The whole hotel is decorated tastefully and kept clean. Also the service is open-minded and ready to fulfill every wish. But the speciality that we observed at this hotel was that even though it is a small compact hotel everything was working if the people respected also some small rules which made the whole atmosphere more enjoyable. We really enjoy every stay here and look forward to come here again soon.

All in all it is to recommend! For people who want to relax under Turkish sun while they are getting to know cute Turkish manners, such as great Turkish food and hospitality.

The hotel is just next to the sea side with beautiful water. Castello di Akyarlar claims itself as a boutique hotel, to which I can hardly agree. Basically, this is an "upgraded" pension by putting a vase here and a table there. However, the rooms are maintained every second day. The lighting in the bathroom was not working, but it seems that this maintenance does not include checking the appliances. Although next to the sea side, the hotel does not provide swimming towels. Extras are really expensive. For example, we had to pay €100 for a dinner with my wife, our 6 and 1 year old boys. The taste of the food is quite good, still, this type of second quality restaurant does not deserve this much money. Akyarlar is famous with its nice sand. This hotel has however ruins this by filling in the sea just in front of it just to put additional sunbeds and you need to use the tiny beaches at right and left side of the hotel. If you are travelling with your car, there is a large parking space, so you shouldn't worry about it.
In general, the place is a decent place with bad value for money ratio.

Came here for lunch with a number of friends including locals. Service was young boys and girls who dont know how to serve. Our cold beers were left to warm up while they wandered around looking for cold glasses. Our meals came one by one - as one finished another arrived - and despite my wife and I ordering the same meal we got something completely different but were told that is what it was. Asked for the manager a number of times but he only came at the end. The manager is of the mistaken impression this represents "beautiful service" in his words - we paid in full as we couldnt wait to leave - and were charged more than the menu prices which he insisted he could do - and put our complaints down to "English always complain". Our local Turkish friends were deeply embarassed by his behaviour. Wont be returning.

We wertravelellingng in the Greek islands and decided to visit Bodrum. We booked at this hotel as it looked so good and authentic on the photos on RatesToGo. Despite having received confirmation from the booking site that our accommodation has been booked we arrived at the hotel having to find out that they were already fully booked and they had no rooms booked for us. The manager claimed that they had not received any info about our booking, he was not helpful nor hospitable at all. The hotel is located outside Bodrum and the 30min taxi drive that we had to organize ourselves costs us TL80 each way.

I have been to many five star hotels and holiday clubs in different countries with my family, but this hotel is much more enjoyable. It is small, unique and set in historical buildings just by the sea at Akyarlar in Bodrum. It is comfortable, homely and kept very clean. The food is delicious and live music ensures that the evenings are entertaining. The sea is incredibly beautiful and clear with turquoise coloured water, it is shallow and has a sandy beach for kids to play in along with a nice bay for adults to enjoy. It has a friendly atmosphere and creates a family feeling between guests and staff, the owner Ibrahim is a helpful and cultured person who is always around to ensure your personal comfort and make your holiday stress free and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Paul Trubody UK
