Description: Situated over the Shaky Bridge that crosses the Manuherikia River, Shaky Bridge Wines & Bistro is a relaxing 10 minute walk from the Alexandra I-Site and the central part of town. Follow the river track or walk along Tarbert St until you see the signs for the Shaky Bridge. If driving, follow Tarbert St to Little Valley Road where you will see our sign. Enjoy a platter of cheese and other local products as you taste through several Shaky Bridge or french wines, from Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Rose, Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Chardonnay. Our Bistro style menu offers high quality food options and exceptional service. Visit our Cellar Door retail store to take your favourite wines home with you (cellar door only on appointment). Located directly under Alexandra's infamous 'Clock on the hill', Shaky Bridge Wines & Bistro is easy to find and well worth your walk!

Dull food, slow service, and prices did not reflect what we got for food. The lamb kebabs tasted nice but were served on a bed of dry couscous which was hard to swallow. The decor was nice, but the staff seemed a bit absent minded and not really interested in customers. There are a lot of other places which have nicer food and service and cost less.

I am very sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the Cafe when you visited in Dec 2012. I wanted to let you know that the Shaky Bridge Vineyard Cafe is now under new management and I very much hope you are able to return to Alexandra and so that we can impress you with our new menu, fantastic wines and first class service.

Getting there is half the fun - crossing that shaky bridge! The cafe is typical New Zealand: good food and attentive service in a genial atmosphere.

Loved the outdoors area with vineyards and old stone buildings at the back and a view of the river at the front. The food was delicious and service good.
