Beautiful garden - a very relaxing place to enjoy delicious food. Despite the rain, still a nice view from the porch. Charming service and good value.
We enjoyed home made soup and very tasty french desserts. Over all a lovely time and would recommend to all.

I am so glad we decided to stay here instead of Cradle Mountain. Having lived in France I have a soft spot for all things French, especially French food. Glencoe did not disappoint. Little did I know when I booked that Remi is one of the best chefs in Tasmania, renown for his restaurant in Hobart. Make sure you book for at least one meal (other than breakfast) when saying there. Although the croissants for breakfast just melt in your mouth.

The rooms were cosie. Genette is a superb hostess. Glencoe is a great base and retreat.

We detoured to visit Glencoe for a lovely lunch, which was well worth it. The gardens are delightful and the cafe seating is outside under the trees, under the verandah or inside. It was great strolling around the gardens enjoying their many trees and plants. Whilst there we looked at the B & B rooms which are very French in style and well appointed. There were several menu options for lunch and an even larger wine list. We had chicken and lamb dishes, both melted in the mouth. The top dishes were the desserts. One of us had the sorbet combo which was blueberry and peach -- rated the best ever sorbet!! Not sugary, just rich fruit flavour. The other dessert was the creme brûlée, also excellent. We also purchased one of their blood orange marmalades which we consumed on our trip. This farm, located just off the main road from Sheffield to Devonport, offers refined country cuisine and is not over the top cost-wise. Ginette and Remi are discreet hosts and we enjoyed conversing with them.

We stayed at Glencoe as a part of a road tour of Northern Tasmania. The location was good just a short drive from Sheffield where you can buy your winter clothing at Slaters. The grounds seem a little run down and in need of attention but inside the house was otherwise clean and tidy. Our room was well presented if not a little small for the price. Breakfast was at 8.30 and dinner at 6.30 with a fixed menu.. The food and service was very good. The host was charming. Overall I thought it was a pleasant stay in a lovely part of Tasmania only let done by the need for some garden maintenance.

Driving to have a look at Sheffield we spied a sign saying "open for lunch French food" Down a little dirt road onto a farm property to a lovely cottage that had a cosy fire and smelled delicious!
A warm welcome was given to us by our host and cook Ginette. The menu was simple fare belied its fantastic taste. The food was authentic french made with produce from their gardens and their own eggs. You must stop here for lunch or stay overnight-it was simply the best food i have had in Tasmania.

We decided to break our journey from Strahan at this lovely location on the Cradle Mountain road.
We had an excellent dinner cooked by chef Remi with vegetables straight from the garden and home made sorbet. The house is a beautifully restored country Victorian farm house with 4 bedrooms and the ideal place for a group of friends to stay under one roof. There is a lovely lounge and the garden was beautiful. There was an excellent choice of wines with the meal. It's not too far from Cradle Mountain and the Devonport ferry terminal.
Ginette and Remi were gracious hosts and we enjoyed their stories and humour. A great place to stay, especially when entering or exiting Tasmania by ferry.

The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated with a elegant French Provincial feel. Both rooms had an ensuite within the room. A guest lounge was provided with seating for 8 in 2 areas. A music system, firebox, soft lighting, and copious amounts of books and magizines made this room a lovely retreat.

We ordered dinner for 4 people and were delighted with the presentation, quality, and taste. It was superb. Whilst it is a set menu using in season produce from the property, I am sure whatever Ginette chooses will delight you.

Breakfast the next morning was again lovely and consisted of juice, cereal, stewed fruit, yogurt, croissants, toast and home made jams that are to die for.

Overall, a lovely experience and a highlight of our trip. Thank you Ginette for a lovely time.
