We booked this hotel due to reviews on TA. I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the hotel. It looks better than in photos. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Check in was smooth. I think it is off season just now because we got a huge quad room for two of us. It is one floor up but Renzo helped me with the bags. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi worked well. The breakfast room and reading room were nice and spacious to sit in as there is no outside space as such. It is at the end of a steep hill but that didn't bother us. In fact my daughter used it for exercise. Renzo will help with planning activities but we had already booked through Desafio tours to go for the Monteverde cloud forest hike. We also went to Selvatura hanging bridges which I loved. The hotel is 10 mins walk to the centre and there are lots of nice restaurants. They serve a good breakfast and Grace had made a delicious corn bread on one day.
The only thing that bothered me was that the shower was really bad..there was hardly any force as they have a very small heater and my daughter couldn't take a shower even when she was tired because it doesn't relax you. So that is something that one should think about otherwise I would have given it four stars for price and service.
