“Fun and interesting!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

When we did the night tour it was raining the whole time, which meant it was hard to find many animals. However, our guide Laura, who spoke perfect English, knew how to make our tour very interesting anyhow. We saw some insects that would normally not really interest us, but Laura was like a walking encyclopedia and told us things that made the tour still a great experience. We did see two sloths of which one had a baby. It did however sometimes feel like you were in someones backyard instead of the jungle, because there are many groups walking in a relatively small piece of jungle. On the other hand, when one group finds something big, you can be there quickly to see it, which makes finding animals easier. I would definitely recommend this tour with this organisation, since the guides were so knowledgable and you have a big chance of finding animals!

Excellant activity, it was raining, so we had a chance see a lot of animals. One most original activity we did in Costa Rica.

“Great night hike - it really is a wildlife refuge!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

We went on a night hike with a private guide (Andres Alvarado of Forest Alive - see separate review - best guide we had in Costa Rica). We were greeted at the entrance by the owner, who was holding a giant tarantula that had been rescued from a horse pasture where it was in danger of being trampled. The owner was taking the tarantula into the forest to help it find a safer home. We saw and heard lots of animals on our hike, including a kinkajou, howler monkeys, and a huge side-stripe palm viper, as well as countless insects and spiders. We had a great time!
