“Amazingly Fun and Educational Day”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Our guided walk through Curi-Cancha was absolutely one of the highlights of our 2 week stay in Costa Rica. Danilo is an amazing guide and we would highly recommend him. He was extremely knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife. He really cared about what we were interested in and kept track of what everybody in the group wanted to see. He also helped us take amazing pictures through the telescope with our cameras & phones!

With him as our guide, we spotted an incredible amount of animals: 3 Quetzals, green toucan, a bunch of spider monkeys playing around, tarantula, bellbirds, rare bat hawk, sloth, agouti, deer, mot mot and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

You can't go wrong with a visit here if you enjoy learning, being in nature and in great company! Thanks Danilo for an unforgettable day.

Go early!!! And go with a guide. We booked our morning tour with Esteban (independent guide) and it was great!!! We saw so many animals and took tons of pictures. You'll have to buy an entry but it lasts all day!

“Great place for a guided walk - monkeys!”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We went for a guided walk with Danilo and were not disappointed. He showed us animals and aspects of the cloud- and rainforests that we would never have seen on our own. With his knowledge and experience, in a very short time, we were able to see wild spider monkeys, tarantulas, quetzals, bellbirds, numerous butterflies, and other creatures of the forest. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

“We saw quetzals!”

Not a big place, but lower elevation than Reserve, hence more opportunity to see a quetzal and other birds that do not like higher elevation.

“Koki is the best!!!”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

We visited Curi Cancha on our first day in Costa Rica, and had our guide Koki who works closely with Jen at Hidden Canopy Boutique Hotel, both of which are amazing! The price for the guide and the refuge were steeper than we had been expecting, but we found it extremely worth it! We saw sloths that were actually moving, quetzals, hummingbirds, countless other birds, monkeys, other mammals and more! Koki used his telescope to take pictures with our smart phones through it so we could get up close pictures and videos! My fiancé climbed on the inside of a fig tree and we went swinging on roots. It was a great introduction to our vacation in Costa Rica!
