“Awesome guide!”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

One of our friends highly recommended Andres to us and we traveled with him in Monteverde for two days. He is patient in answering our kids (6 & 9) questions and kept the facts to their level.
We did a night tour and saw lot of mammals, insects and cute sleeping birds including a toucan. The day tour in Monteverde preserve was fantastic with a beautiful sighting of resplendent quetzal. Being a professional photographer he captured beautiful pictures and videos of the quetzal as well.
We would definitely call on him if we are in that area again.
Thanks Andres!

“Best guide!”

Thank you, andres, for making our cloudforest tour so interesting and fun! We learned a lot, saw a lot (the famous quetzal, male and female!) and had great fun. Next time I am in Costa Rica, I'll try to get a guided tour with you again.. :)

“Night tour!”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Three of us from we're on a 30 person tauck tour of Costa Rica and had Andres as a guide of the monteverde nature preserve. We found him so informative and passionate that we asked if he would take just us 3 on a night tour. It was fantastic! Not only was Andres knowledgable and as excited as us to discover flora and fauna he also was very prepared. We each had strong flashlights and high end binoculars. Once out in the reserve at night we found a sloth, kinkajous, toucans, pit vipers, grey fox, amazing spiders, walking stick bugs and much more. I found it more rewarding than the day trips. Lots to see, lots of passion for nature, lots of information for a very reasonable price. Great!

“Fantastic night walk in the forest!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Andres took our family (parents+2 kids, ages 7 and 8) on an incredible private tour of a nature reserve at night. It was very easy to arrange the walk over email, with clear prices and choices, and he brought flashlights and binoculars for all.

Andres enabled us see some amazing wildlife in the dark. He pointed out larger mammals as well as tiny insects, and took the time to explain everything in between. We saw sloths and kinkajous up in the treetops - in the dark! - several sleeping birds in lower branches, and many jumbo insects right on the path that were easy to see. He was patient with our kids and answered all of our questions. Andres even shared some great tips for photographing wildlife at night with flash - our later photos are much clearer than the first ones we took. Last, he was in constant but unobtrusive communication with other guides in the same reserve, to share information on sightings.

If we were to return to Monteverde, I would absolutely seek out Andres for another tour. There's no way we would have seen or learned half as much, had we been by ourselves - and having his attention focused on our small group was fantastic. Thanks Andres!

“Excellent Tour Guide!”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

We spoke to Andres via email and told him the kind of things we liked to do. He came up with an amazing itinerary to fill up the two days we had in Monteverde. His is extremely knowledgeable of the area and was able to take us to places to see beautiful wildlife and the most incredible plant life you could imagine! Andres is also a photographer. He was able to help us capture the most beautiful photographs - we are so grateful to have these memories of our trip.

I highly suggest hiring a private guide - you'll never see the wildlife we saw without one. Andres was able to point out things we would have never been able to see. And if you want beautiful photos to take home --Andres is your guy!
