After a quick dip in our hotel's (Monteverde Lodge) very large hot tub, we took a peaceful hike on the lodge grounds and into the adjoining private nature preserve. We stopped for dinner at Restaurante De Lucia-- one of the best meals of our 8 day trip. It was warm, welcoming and reasonably priced ($60/4 people with drinks and dessert). They had the best guacamole and homemade tortillas of our trip. After dinner we took a night hike back to Monteverde Lodge and saw lots of amazing insects and a baby tarantula. A great family adventure.
