What a terrible Sunday afternoon experience. I ordered a strong coffee and a selection from the tapas menu. The coffee was very weak and not to my liking, I took it back and asked for one much stronger, the replacement came and was exactly the same. Not much point in trying again.
After 30 min we enquired about our food order and was then informed that there was a mix up (forgotten about) and it would be out shortly. We declined and said that we would like a refund as we needed to go. The waitress offered us a complimentary wine ($9) or a refund ($28) , not both - how odd.
We mentioned this to the waitress and she immediately started arguing about it being our fault. Really not much point in continuing a conversation with that attitude so as we left we mentioned to the bar man (we had to interupt his txt conversation) that the waitress was very agressive and then he went on the defense. Easiest thing to do is leave, these people clearly had no idea. The barman then said 'see you again.' I went back in (this place is tiny, 3 steps out the door) and suggested that he really was being quite antagonistic. He then invited me in his words "why dont you stay and drink pi**weak coffee'
What very odd behaviour.
Very poor coffee, forgot the food order, they wantedto trade a $9 wine for a $28 food order, argumentative and there were only 5 other people there.
Take your chances at this converted sandwich shop at your peril. There are too many quality small bars in close to Claremont to have to put up with that.
