“Four of us”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2012

Our stay at Allara Homestead was excellent. We had American guests staying with us & their comments were the same as ours. Ideal location with friendly hosts. Our American friends during their stay wanted to see a Kooaburra & our host Cheryl called & down they came to be hand fed. The rooms were immaculate with every convenience.
Breakfast was really home cooking at it's best, along with choices of fresh fruit & cereals.
Nrxt visit we are staying longer.

Room Tip: Inspect before. All rooms perfect.

Thank you for letting us know and other travellers how much you enjoyed your stay. We really loved your company and that of your American friends. We were so pleased that our resident kookaburra came down to be hand fed while you were here.
Also lovely to hear that you would like to return.
Warm regards C

My partner & I have just returned from a 1 night stay at Allara Homestead. When we arrived we were greeted by our hosts Cheryl & Ian. They gave us a warm welcome and made us feel comfortable and welcome from the minute we arrived, to the time we left, we felt like long lost friends. We wished we had booked for at least another night but unfortunately we had other commitments.

Cheryl showed us to our room (vintage rose) which had a large deck off the room through french doors, with 2 chairs and small table. This was very nice to sit and read or relax overlooking the dams and gardens. The interior of the room was amazing, with so much attention to detail, starting with a little blackboard welcoming us with our names, home baked slice, quality selection of teas, coffees etc even a small jug of fresh milk in the fridge, complimentary port and chocolates, plus a small mini bar of soft drink, chocolate bars and chips which were very reasonably priced.

The room was decorated in a modern country style with a queen very comfortable bed, nice linen and selection of pillows, plush towels and open design ensuite. Our room had very good lighting for reading, with ceiling fan and great air con, which was quiet and efficient, as it was a very hot night. The peaceful surrounds and quiet were amazing as this was tucked away from the hussle and bussle of the tourist area but only a few minutes drive away to restaurants, craft shops, walks and waterfalls etc. There is a good sized flat screen television in the room, but we didn't even turn this on as it is such a lovely retreat in the country and just enjoyed the simple things in life.

As we arrived early afternoon we decided to order a cheese platter which was served to us on the verandah of the main home. We started chatting to Cheryl & Ian and we all sat together on the deck sharing the platter and a few nice wines watching the sun go down. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all.

After a big sleep in, we were served breakfast at the main home verandah. Wow!! The breakfast was great, home cooked fritattas, bubble & squeak, fruit salad and home made jams, cereal, toast, most things you could want, nothing was too much trouble.

After our afternoon with Cheryl & Ian we were told, Allara is a fairly new B&B and I think we were so lucky to stumble on this, we will be back.

Thank you to the two of you for choosing to stay with us and especially taking the time to write such wonderful and thoughtful words, which I know will help others when choosing a place to stay.
We too felt like long lost friends within such a short time after your arrival and your wanting to share in a drink and our cheese platter made for a relaxing time with the sun going down.
Thanks again C & I
