Came here to see our family living nearby. Lovely pub. Welcoming & friendly locals & staff. Personally loved the decor taste, I spotted an old mangle & grand daughter clock not to mention the old piano & globes! Food was fabulous. Couldn't fault anything. Room was clean large & very comfortable. Breakfast was continental & we were happy with everything. Will return.

As we arrived the tired exterior of The Hollies Inn was a concern but we needn't have worried, the rest of the place was fine. Nice bar area, not huge but pleasant.

We were in room 1, the family room, which was spacious and nicely furnished. We went elsewhere for our meal just for a change of scene. On our return the noise had started. It was SO loud, like being in the middle of a disco / club for the next few hours. We couldn't have the t.v. on at a comfortable volume and just had to endure and wait for it to end. The room is directly above the bar with little soundproofing. On the saturday night the music and general partying continued until midnight and the drunken shouting and swearing for another half hour. Horrendous.

We've stayed in many pubs in the past but never had such a terrible experience. The owners must be aware of the noise from reviews. Even the barman commented that he was surprised we were up so early on the Sunday. They must know. It's not fair to submit guests to this and spoil their stay away from home.

The included continental breakfast was varied and plentiful.

We came across this pub while we were out and about one lunch time. The menu was good and the food enjoyable. Dog friendly punters too, so our Retriever had plenty of attention. The pub itself looks tired and in need of redecoration, but it was comfortable and friendly.

As the name suggests, the Hollies Inn is a pub with what seems to be four rooms for overnight guests. I noticed that other reviewers had commented upon the noise from downstairs in the bar, although I must admit that on the one night stay I didn't notice it unduly. For the price, the accommodation is fair. Our room was neat and tidy and the bathroom was well presented, although the shower itself was fairly weak. There was also some confusion over whether a full English or simply a Continental breakfast would be available. The most frustrating thing however was the rather early check out time of 9:30am, which to be fair the establishment guide did make clear from the outset, but even so...

We popped into The Hollies after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. We had looked at a number of pub/restaurants in the area but many don't serve Sunday dinner in the evening or you have to wait until 6pm to order.
We arrived at The Hollies at 5pm and the Sunday dinner menu looked delicious, there was a good choice of pork, beef and chicken all £8.50 and we could get a smaller portion of these for the children at £4.50- good sizes for a 7 and 10 year old- they couldn't finish it! There was also lamb at £10.50. They served us quickly and the meat was cooked beautifully with Yorkshire pud and a good selection of veg.
We would definitely recommend The Hollies to families or couples. The kids enjoyed the selection of games to play with and we enjoyed the carafe of wine at £9.75!
Just wish we'd taken some photos of the place and our food so we could upload them here, I think it makes a big difference if there are photos on TripAdvisor.
