Stayed over a week in December with family -was a great base for city trips to Brussels centre for the Christmas market and other activities. Room was very clean, staff were very friendly and accommodating with the requests we had for our two young children. Also good value for money as we got a promotional rate for our room! Will definitely stay again next time :-)!

Receptionists were really helpful and knowledgable. If you get late for breakfast ..after 10am you get stuff that's been there a while. But the waiters got us fresh coffee and freshly cooked eggs. The rooms are nice and clean. You can hear the noises from other rooms, but that's not unusual. All in all, I'd stay there again. Brussels is a real surprise. Nice, clean and pretty. Lots of people speak English too, so that wasn't a strain either.

We stayed here for a week and had to change rooms four times and use the shower across the public hallway in an adjacent room for two of those days. This all due to inoperable essentials in each of the four rooms. By the way, these were business suites. Not the less expensive standard rooms. For example, hot water, air conditioning, heater, wall plugs, air conditioner making hammering sounds, having to transfer light bulbs from one lamp to another. In one room, we had no cold water. Just scolding hot water. How does that happen? The list goes on and on and on. Had it been something insignificant, we would have overlooked and chuckled about it later. These things were, as I said before, essential.

Yes, we told management and they were accommodating in that they changed our room. 4 times. It was a hassle for us considering we were in Europe for two weeks and having 4 suitcases and assorted carry ons that had to be packed and unpacked each instance unnecessarily.

For this, I gave them two stars for their willingness to assist.

The guy at the front desk, don't recall his name, is wishy washy. one day he'll tell you one thing (the shuttle availability for a 3 mile commute) and the next is something different. I had to resort to Taxi or walk 90% of the time when he told me it would be available for me.

The hotel is simply falling apart and they are merely mending the things customers inform them are broke versus being ahead of the game by way of pre-inspection, preventative maintenance and enhancing the rooms / hotel.

We are glad that in the face of all these troubles you noticed our staff was accommodating and helpful. A reason you might have had trouble with the shuttle could be due to the number of people requesting it on that day. I can also assure you that your next stay will go much smoother. Thank you for letting us know when something is not up to our high standards, as we are always looking to improve our customer’s experience.

Also I'd like to let you know that we've started doing refurbishments to the rooms and bathrooms as well as touching up & refreshing all the public areas to make sure everything looks fresh and new to increase the overall guest experience. I think you will find that our hotel is wonderfully improved.

Yes indeed writing about a hotel when you got a freebie is a little bit difficult as you would tend to be a bit bias but here goes. The hotel is basic about a 3 star, good breakfast and location suited us as was near the airport (15 mins) which the hotel will drop you there, very handy service. It is suited a about 20 mins away from the city by bus which you can pick up outside the door.
Great bar across the road called La Mascotte. There are some freaky customers there which kept us mildly amused. The clientele are amusing and would burst into song, giving a rendition of a Belgian song. Would recommend it not only for the beer but for the entertainment and hell its free.
Brussels itself is a must see place. Get the two bus tours and hop on, hop off. The Grand Palace is so pretty and go and see the European Union headquarters.
We went to see Brugges, its only 50 mins away by train and costs only E15 return. This town to say the least is stunning and well worth the visit if you can. Overall very impressed my Belgian friends.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the road as there appears no other views on offer from the rest of the hotel

About one month ago we went to Brussels and stayed at the Gresham Belson Hotel.
The reception was very good, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are good; large, clean and fully equipped.
I think we had a room with renovated bathroom, I loved the mosaic tiles.
Breakfast was great, lots of choice, they had everything you can imagine!
This hotel is not expensive and you get value for money.
Our city trip was wonderful! If we ever go back to Brussels, we will stay in this hotel again.

Booked in by my company to attend a course.
Already wish I chose my usual Brussels hotel.
Room is shabby,
Wifi very weak.
TV impossible, even for a techno phone like me, to switch on. (Someone will be along in 5, 10 or 15 minutes?)
Curtains hanging off rail.
Cupboard doors badly scuffed
And all this after just 15 minutes of arriving.
Please let me go home!

I stayed in the hotel in Oktober 2012 for 4 days. I payed a high price because Brussels was crowded. The room had to single 80 cm wide beds, the mattress was 20 cm thick and far too soft, impossible to sleep well. The rooms to the street (corner hotel) are also far to loud because of the bad sound absorbing of the old windows.
The carpet in the room is blurry, the towels stinking like hell and the ventilation transport the smell of smoke everywhere.
The "fitness room" is an empty standard room with 4 very old equiment. The service is also below average.
I'll never stay there again!

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniencies you experienced. As a result of your remarks, we have acknowledged that the towels are no longer up to standard. Therefore we have invested in a complete linen change in the entire hotel as of 16th November 2012.

Our personnel on duty have instructions to respect the law that forbids people to smoke in "non-smoking areas" and to notify guests of this prohibition.

We have reminded to the staff about this delicate matter.

We have already acknowledged the quality of our fitness area, we are currently looking to renew the fitness equipment.

We hope that in spite of your unpleasant experience, you will honour us of your presence during your next visit to Brussels.
