“Lovely different relaxing place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

In Brussels for business again and my first time in this hotel.

Refreshingly different. Friendly young staff and numerous places to sprawl, relax and work. The room was very clean and modern i liked the bathroom design complete with free magazines although i never did work out how to work the plug in the sink. Sound insulation and the bed was wonderfully comfortable.

A great place to relax, work and rest.

Everything is good to great. The breakfast didn't wow me however. A buffet of items sold by number of items. Rooms have a hair dryer by the way!

Main selling point for me was the location. Near some great restaurants, major road into the city (quite walkable) and Musee Wiertz is worth a look.

Seemed like a new and modern hotel. I liked the style and the room solutions. Big shower and nice bathroom, comfortable beds as well. I like the open solution with no doors in the room, just a wall separating the bathroom from the beds. It is a small walk to the town center about 20 mins but we didn´t mind. I would definitely stay there again and would try the same chain in other cities.

Parking was a nightmare, but that was hardly the hotels fault. There is an EU building right across the street and the block was restricted due to security precautions.

The hotel is modern but comfortable and cosy. I really like that you have to have your room key for anything... Including calling the elevator. No one is roaming around who shouldn't be. Our room was spacious with a comfy bed and the included food options were very nice. The self serve snack bar is truly convenient and the bar staff were helpful.

The Aloft Brussels Schuman is a perfect hotel either for business or pleasure. Its very modern setup may not to be everyone's tastes. However, I found it to be fresh and certainly very different to many of the established hotels in the EU district. Rooms are very comfortable, although the bathroom/wardrobe arrangement may seem unusual.

Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Automated check-in is great. Location is fantastic, being no more than a few minutes walk to any of the major train/metro stations and a host of EU buildings.

The breakfast in the local Exki would be the only thing to better the Aloft.

A slightly quirky hotel and, it must be made clear, ideal if you've got work at one of the EC buildings but not so convenient if you want the tourist sights - though Schuman metro is only 5 minutes walk away.
The hotel is modern and prides itself on its green credentials - you can even opt NOT to have your room serviced and get a €5 credit. The bed is very comfortable and my room at any rate was very quiet and also I could make it totally dark which is important for me to get a good sleep. A good size too.
Good, free, wifi and a long table to work on with ample power points. A neat fixture on the TV means you can plug in audio, video and computer devices and play through the TV.
Breakfast has been mentioned by others. Good fresh ingredients but you pay for what you eat - e.g. €10 for 5 items (croissant / coffee / cheese etc). Next time I'd forgo the breakfast and go to the Paul Cafe round the corner.
No restaurant as such, but lots of restaurants of all kinds within an 8 minute walk.
Very friendly, helpful staff speaking a variety of languages

Room Tip: I had room 309 - very quiet and spacious.

My wife and I stayed at the Aloft hotel for a long weekend in October. Whilst we found initially finding the hotel a little tough, once we found it we were really pleased!!! we stayed for 3 nights and found our room to be above expectations. While chain hotels like these lack character, the specification of our standard double room was excellent, very modern, clean and spacious. On other city breaks around the world I have always found bedrooms to be cramped. The staff in the hotel were excellent, very friendly and knowledgable about the local area. I found the bar and snack bar to be well stocked and although a little pricey, these were competitive with other hotels. The area the hotel is based in is the financial / european centre of Brussels and we found it to be a good base within easy reach of the city centre. Schuman train / tube station is a 5 minute walk however my wife and I found the 30 minute stroll into town quite enjoyable.
