“Good choice”
Reviewed December 18, 2012

We spent a night in a 5rd floor apartment in December. The apartment was big enough, comfortable and well equipped. There was a huge double bed with two separate matrasses and with nice bedlines in the room. The kitchenette was modern with microwave oven and coffee maker and it was suitable for cooking a small dinner. The bathroom and a toilet were separated and they were modern and clean, the hotel provided towels as well. There were normal central heating in the apartment and it worked properly, temperature was around 21 °C. It's location was acceptable, around 7 minutes walking distance from Midi Station. To sum up this apartment was a good choice.
We faced only one negativ thing, WIFI didn't work properly.

Room Tip: Apartments are recommended.

We were very disappointed in our stay at this aparthotel. First, the location is not very nice. The street you walk down from the train station has half a dozen homeless people living on it. The hotel itself is very unattractive. The wallpaper is reminiscent of the '50s. There is no kitchen to speak of in the apartments, only a space of about 3 feet with an old sink and two electric burners. No counter space to prepare food and no knives. No toaster. Hardly a fully-equipped kitchen. The television did not work during our entire stay. Two men came to look at it and could not fix it. The coffee maker was broken, but was replaced on our last day. The Internet works sporadically - sometimes it worked okay, but then it would cut out and not work for hours. There was lots of dust on the bed frame and the couch was so old and worn. The furniture was stained and dirty. It looked nothing like the photos online. What we had hoped to find, a cozy, comfortable place for a few nights, turned out to be a dump. After travelling through Europe for 3 months, this was our last hotel and it was the worst. The front-desk staff seemed uninterested in their job and providing any service. We paid extra for a one-bedroom apartment, but received a studio apartment. The front desk told us there was no difference. Also the exterior doors to the apartments are flimsy and not real exterior doors - just vinyl. The locks are not proper. A child could kick it down. The pillows were huge and overstuffed and you cannot actually sleep on them. Very uncomfortable. There are lots of better places to stay in Brussels.

Close to Midi station, so handy of you are getting off or catching a train. Not the nicest area though and not a lot around there, a faor walk into the city.
Rooms were ok, decent sized and well equipped. Service was ok, though the wi-fi kept going down during my stay.
Did not get any refund when I needed to check out of a stay a few days early, not very impressed with these tactics.

I stopped at the Aparthotel Brussels Midi for an overnight stay before an early Eurostar departure for London. The hotel is a three-block walk from the station: double check the address as Google Maps printed the route wrong for me. The hotel lies in a quiet street of mixed residential and storefront businesses, there is little traffic on the one-way street outside. The desk clerk was courteous and spoke good English, checked passport and booking receipts, and offered a free upgrade even though I'd booked at a substantial discount. There are lifts to the rooms and the hotel is accessible throughout.

The rooms are surprisingly good: comfortable and well appointed apartments with an open plan between bedroom and living room. There is a generous queen bed, living space with sofa and chairs, and a full kitchen with dining table. Stove, coffeemaker, refrigerator, and microwave were supplied along with basic eating and cooking utensils: everything was clean and orderly. The bathroom had a tub / shower with good hot water and lots of pressure: the facilities were clean and modern.

The only issue is with arriving after dark: taxis at the station refuse to drive the short distance to the hotel, but it is really too far to walk alone after 10 (especially when the map is incorrect). But once there, it's a very good lodging for transit or work.

Let me start off by saying that this place is completely and utterly amazing value for what you're paying. We noticed that the upgrade from hotel room to apartment was minimal so we paid the additional - I'm so glad we did, having the kitchenette facilities for the little bonus meant that we could prepare dinner and breakfast in the room, saving us money in the long room.

Plus you get so much space for what you're paying! This has been by far one of the best deals we've had on our travels. While the location isn't smack bang in the city it's close to the main station, meaning easy access to Bruge, Ghent and a great walk into the middle of the city. The place is well furnished and not a single problem with service (do note that, if you get apartments it's essentially self-service for the time you're there, but that's clearly explained in the booking). And the views out the large, openable windows are marvellous!

A couple of things could have made the apartment a touch better, but they're small things - for instance the King Split bed was made as two separate beds pushed together - a comforter would have helped. Also the kitchen could have been slightly better furbished - some salt, pepper and a few more utensils would have made all the difference (especially a fish slice). But this really is nit-picking more than anything else.

A great stay all around!

Room Tip: Def. splash out for the apartment if you can! Worth the extra!

when my husband told me that we're staying in a hotel not far from the train station, i didn't expect much. to our surprise, our room is well-maintained, furnished and even tastefully decorated. i even find the bedrooms particularly cozy, the beds comfortable. the only downpoint i think has something to do with the windows that my soon 3-year old finds very tempting to open (though constant surveillance is important, an additional unreachable lock could probably lessen worries?). nevertheless, the hotel exceeded our expectations to say the least and we won't hesitate to book again for the next brussels beer festival with our friends.

I booked and stayed 2 nights here in early July and the value for what I paid was outstanding! We had a studio apartment on the 5th floor with an amazing view outside of giant door-like windows. The place was modern, clean and nicely decorated. It also included a large refrigerator, espresso machine and everything you could need for cooking/dining. We actually only ate out once while in Brussels because having this apartment made it so easy to eat in. After we arrived in the city we stopped at a small grocery store and stocked up with food to eat for the duration of our stay saving us more money.

The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the large bathroom and the fact the toilet room was separate from the shower/sinks room. Have I mentioned the tremendous view? As I said the windows are more like doors making it possible to walk through them onto a balcony type thing covered with rocks. I'm not sure if they wanted you to go out there or not but I felt perfectly safe and there were cigarette butts out there so others had tried as well.

The neighborhood didn't make us feel uneasy, it's just more working class and less touristy than other areas but we never left/returned late at night. The walk to the train station is very quick and straightforward once you do it once.

The guy at the front desk was nice and allowed us to store our suitcases for several hours after we checked out. He was very blunt but that seems to be the way of Belgians.

I would stay here again for sure if ever in Brussels. I should mention I paid less than half per night than what they had posted as the price in the lobby by booking on a third party site.

Room Tip: Apartment #53 has a GREAT view!
