And really, that's the only reason we stayed there. The hotel had availability for a last minute booking and was definitely affordable. We took advantage of the shuttle from the hotel to the Bourse and I don't think we would've walked back at night. The area is definitely a little sketchy (empty shops, run down buildings, etc), but not littered with thugs on every corner. We did lock up our bags with a PacSafe in the room, just in case. Breakfast was good with a decent spread, and the aforementioned shuttle ran on time with no problems. Walls in the room are absolutely paper thin and you hear everything outside the room. As far as decor, it's in need of new carpet, paint, and the bathroom was a little moldy - but the're all signs that it's an old building in need of a serious upgrade.
Bottom line: If you have to stay here, it's doable, especially on a budget, or for a last minute trip, just don't expect anything beyond the basics.
