Only stayed one night, but would have been happy to stay longer. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Very reasonably priced especially as it included breakfast and free Wi-fi. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Walking distance from Brussels-Midi and Grand Place.
Would recommend.

This hotel's only positives are its proximity to Midi station (5-7 mins walk) - although, actually, there must be at least 7-8 nearer (and nicer) hotels to Midi - and its relatively low price on lastminute.com.
The hotel's environs are grim - one could scarcely imagine a more rundown area. The hotel building(s) itself appears to be one (formerly) grand old place knocked into another - all a bit higgledypiggledy (and not in a cool way!).
My bedroom (6th floor) was OK, but I was disturbed by noises (mostly the lift, which actually terminates on the 5th floor) during the night and my corridor-mates appeared entirely to be semi-wild 19-year-olds on a night-off. (Oddly my room-phone also rang 3x during the night, at about 12.00, 1am and then 2am - bizarre. I wasn't asleep actually - I answered it once and it was a woman, in Flemish, asking for directions to the airport (I think). I remained stoically silent).
The breakfast was rather low-quality and involved having to chase staff for replenishments. Various odd-looking characters milled around the buffet, from teens in baseball-caps to dodgy-looking 'businessmen'.
In short... avoid.

Brussels is an expensive city and we found that this hotel was offering a decent deal for it's central (ish) location. I was a little wary about this property after reading the reviews below about leering men in the area and the fact that the hotel was outdated. As a result I requested to be in the modern part of the hotel in a quiet room. We were put in a spacious, modern room at the front of the hotel and none of us had any trouble with noise. I took ear plugs but didn't even need to use them!

The breakfast was good for the price we paid and included tea, coffee, juices and a continental and cooked breakfast. It took around 20 minutes to walk to the Grand Place which was fine for us but if not the metro is very close to the hotel. The train station where we caught the shuttle bus back to the airport and the train to Bruges was also only a 10 minute walk away.

I would say the only downside to this hotel is the area. It isn't as rundown as others make out. We did experience staring and comments from the the large groups of men sat outside the cafes but we experienced the same comments down "Restaurant Alley" just off the Grand Place in the centre of Brussels. Again there is the option to get the metro so you can avoid these men completely if you want.

Room Tip: I would request to be in the new part of the hotel, we were in Ustel 2

My wife and I stayed here in September for 3 nights. We picked this hotel for its location to Brussels main city and because it was close to the main Eurostar station. The good price we received also helped.
Before we arrived we read some reviews and were both a little wary but also went with the attitude that we will decide for ourselves when we got there.

We arrived about 4 or 5 hours before check in and the friendly person on reception let us leave our luggage in their lobby storage cupboard while we took a walk into the city centre which is a ten minute walk.

Its a 3 star hotel....NOT five star so if you book it expecting luxury accommodation then you will be disappointed.
The hotel is clean with smart decor. The room we had was a decent size and again was clean and perfectly fine to stay in. we had a room overlooking the Courtyard at the back. Beds was comfortable and we both slept brilliantly each night we were there. The rooms at the front may not have been so peaceful due to them being near the main road which is very busy.
Breakfast is a continental lay out and was ample to set you up for the day....meats and cheese, toast, croissants, cereals, juices teas and coffees. Scrambles egg....Something for everyone.
Also had a smart games room with pool table Xbox, Internet access, other games and a dart board also Free WiFi throughout the hotel.
The only thing lacking at the hotel is maybe a small bar but with so many around the city thats not a massive problem.

The immediate vicinity around the hotel near the train stations was mainly local bars and a few shops and looked a little run down but you have to bare in mind this is just on the outskirts of a large city and most countries around the world are like this! Local bars were mainly occupied by groups of men sitting out having a drink and people watching.....

Every day and night we walked from the hotel into the Grande Place and never once felt threatened or uncomfortable by the locals which some have reported on here!
Another thing we read was bad reviews about it being swamped with homeless people...yes there some unfortunate people around the streets, but again, its a large city and this is unfortunately how it can be for people. Instead of curse them and put them down....maybe take time to talk to them, they are homeless, not criminals and murderers... you may just make their day by doing this!!! they are human beings in a terrible situation....please don't judge them.

I do recommend the Sunday Market near the hotel!! its huge and sells loads of stuff, its a real bustling friendly place!

Plenty of places to eat and drink in the city!! and we will definatley be coming back, next time we will take our three children for a weekend.

Overall summary is: Clean, large basic rooms. good base to stay in for travelling....dont be put off by bad reviews ,try it for yourself and decide

Room Tip: Choose a back room if possible as i would imagine them to be more peaceful than the ones at the fron...

As mentioned by others posts that hotel is clode to Midi station (walking distance). The Sunday outdoor Midi Market is huge and worth a visit with all sorts of items aor sale. The area is a little rough, but not that bad. Things pretty much close down at 5-6pm so the strets in the immediate vicinty can become quiet. Most anything that you may need can be sourced from Midi Station, about a 5 min walk away. The subway/tram to Grand Place is across the street and takes three stops. Also, close to this hotel is the Cantillon Brewery, one of the very few operational breweries in Brussels. It offers tours and tastings through out the day.
Recommended if you need to be close to Midi for an early or late train. Rooms were average wit most modern conveniences. Housekeepping can be a bnit lackluster with the housekeeper coming by our room as late as 7pm on some days.

Room Tip: Don;t execpt a room facing the busy street. Rather, request a room facing the plaza or the interior...
